Southern-inspired Shotgun blasts into Soho's culinary scene

Shotgun

Opens

August '15

What they say:

The team behind the Lockhart extend their culinary empire by opening up a new, Southern inspired barbecue restaurant. Nestled away in the heart of Soho, Shotgun aims to bring the smokey heat of Texas to the opulent streets of West London. Authenticity is not an issue here. Head chef and proud Texan Brad McDonald will use a wood burner fuelled by British and European hardwood to smoke all his meat before slow cooking it to perfect on a traditional Southern barbecue. To complete the package, Shotgun has employed the talents of expert mixologist Matt Whiley to produce one of West London's most intriguing cocktail list.

What we say:

Given the success of the Fitzrovia-based Lockhart restaurant, the opening of Shotgun will undoubtedly launch chef Brad McDonald to new heights. Opening a gourmet restaurant in Soho is never an easy venture, given the fierce level of competition produced by a number of well established eateries in that area. But that said, chef McDonald seems to have cracked not only a huge range of Southern recipes but also West London's premium culinary scene. More exciting is Shotgun's incredible cocktail selection; bursting full of vigour, be sure to try the Mescal Roux, a concoction that certainly packs a punch by combining fermented trinity mescal with Jalapeño bitter and lime. Say 'Howdy' to London's latest Southern hotspot.
