What they say:

Seafood doesn't have to be served exclusively in stuffy, posh restaurants as Alex Hunter and Danny Clancy have proved with their Fitzrovia venue Bonnie Gull Seafood Shack. Sourcing seafood fresh from British waters has proved so popular for the boys that they have opened their second venue in Soho. Located on Bateman Street, the restaurant only has space for 23 covers, with diners ordering food straight from the counter instead. Expect dishes such as Scottish Langoustines and Cornish John Dory, as well as a drinks menu that includes a Bonnie Mary - their take on a Bloody Mary and topped with an oyster.

What we say:

It's not hard to see why Bonnie Gull Seafood Shack are so popular; with their emphasis on freshly caught, British fish and an ever-rotating menu, the venue brings a taste of the seaside to London and now the restaurant has brought this slick formula to Soho. For their second opening they've gotten even more casual with the idea to grab and go, much like a traditional chippie, only without the lingering smell of fat fryers and swapping sausages for oysters. Also, unlike a traditional fish and chip shop, Bonnie Gull serve top quality booze - think bottles of wine from small independent growers where possible and some seriously tasty cocktails.
