Their Indian restaurant, Gunpowder, won a Bib Gourmand in the Michelin Guide, and now husband and wife team Harneet and Devina Baweja have opened a second restaurant. Madame D is moments from Gunpowder in Spitalfields and focuses on the cuisine of the Himalayas, with a precise emphasis on that of Chinese-Tibetan immigrants. Open Tuesday - Saturday, the spot serves dinner and focuses on sharing plates.

What we say:

Having put their unique spin on traditional Indian cuisine at Gunpowder, Harneet and Devina Baweja have brought London's City area another delicious take on Asian cuisine. This time the menu focuses on flavours from Tibet, China and India, with the menu featuring dishes such as pan-fried Tibetan duck momo, prawns on toast and garlic coriander steamed chicken. Situated above Spirit of 76 pub, Madame D is an intimate space with communal tables, candlelight and room for 25 covers.
