ABOUT THE ACTS

Paul Jones

He presented The Blues Show on BBC Radio 2 for thirty-two years and has been a member of iconic bands such as Manfred Mann, Eric Clapton's Powerhouse, The Blues Band and The Manfreds. Paul had several Top Ten hits with Manfred Mann, including the international number one single "Do Wah Diddy Diddy".

Errol Linton

Three times winner of the British Best Harmonica Player of the Year Blues Awards, Errol Linton is a harmonica wizard from Brixton (of Jamaican descent), a singer, a songwriter, a painter and the hero of the London Underground, where he has played his unique and highly original blend of blues with hints of reggae for 30 years!

“Brixton harmonica wizard”
The Observer

“This gifted Bluesman is one of London’s greatest undiscovered talent”
The Independent

Dust Me Down
Genuine Chicago blues, 70s funk, old gospel, and some jazzy numbers.
Dust Me Down blues band is based in London. It is composed of professional musicians, well-known in London’s blues scene. Ray Wallen is an experienced singer and harp player; he played in several music bands such as Doctor Blue blues band, The Chameleons etc.
The sound of Dust Me Down blues band is a mixture of black music, moving from blues roots to funky and gospel sonorities. Their song list is composed by genuine Chicago blues, 70s funk, old gospel tunes, and some jazzy numbers, giving an exciting show, reaching all tastes of the audience.
Blues combo apparently taking their name from the Ben Harper track.

The Gin Trap House Band
The Gin Trap House Band are staging a revival of the best rhythm 'n' blues, jump-blues, and jazz of the 40s, 50s, and 60s. The band is a coming together of some the mightiest musicians in London. Their stompin' rhythms, infectious horns, and soulful vocals will make you want to dance all night long with their authentic versions of the real, original dance music. They play a whole host of tunes that you already love, and some tunes that you don’t know yet, but as soon as you hear them you’ll wonder why they aren’t already staples of your own collection. If you like the music of Ray Charles, Fats Domino, or Nina Simone you're in for a real treat.

Acantha Lang
A blues rock singer from New Orleans who is described as a cross between Janis Joplin and Tina Turner!

Marcus Bonfanti
Marcus Bonfanti is a highly unique modern artist, reviving the spirit and voracity of roots blues, rock and folk music. With a grumbling, rip-roaring bass voice and torrid musicality, Bonfanti truly channels the spirit of blues, in all its rawness and ferocious nature. British-born Bonfanti has a knack for integrating modern-day thematics with the blues and rock greats of the past, including Muddy Waters, Lead Belly, B.B. King and many, many more.

“As if Jimmy Page had been reborn as Seasick Steve. Utterly spellbinding”
The Times

“With a voice like sand & glue, a punchy guitar technique & stockpile of careworn tales, his appeal becomes unisex. Highlights are plentiful”
Classic Rock Magazine - Blues album of the month

“Bonfanti will be loosening the plaster from the ceiling with outings from a powerful new album.”
The Independent
