What they say:

From supporting The Who to serving up burgers with Le Bun, Andy Taylor has been pretty busy. His schedule is about to get a whole lot more packed as he opens a permanent site on Hackney's Mare Street. Carte Blanche will be bringing the same flavours of American and French fusion seen in Le Bun, but with a more diverse menu. Promising plenty of gluttony, the new spot will be creating plates such as oysters smothered in caviar hollandaise and maple bacon, along with pork jowls with smoked beets and butter. Drinks are similarly unusual with a list of natural wines from small scale producers and cocktails given a Gallic twist.

What we say:

50-cover Carte Blanche looks set to be a hot new edition to the burgeoning food scene around London Fields. Joining the likes of Martello Hall and NT's, the new spot will be creating comfort food Wednesday - Sunday, opening early for brunch over the weekend. Split into two, the space will be stripped back and modern, with abstract prints on walls, wooden stools for drinkers at the bar, and a simple dining room filled with white tables. With his years of experience in the music industry, Taylor will be creating a suitable cool playlist, featuring everything from AC/DC to old school hip hop.
