What they say:

John Devitt's Koya restaurants have made a name for themselves as being some of the best noodle bars in London. His newest opening is set to be no different in staying committed to producing the authentic Japanese cuisine that they are famed for. Current Koya Bar head chef, Shuko Oda, will be opening the new site as head chef for the first six months and the English Breakfast udon is already confirmed for the menu, along with a host of new dishes and a sake list.

What we say:

Given the prolonged success of Soho's Koya Bar it was about time that the restaurant branched to a bigger venue. Expanding from its current 25-seat site, this new 60 cover restaurant will be part of the Bloomberg Arcade and will fill the void left by the original Koya major which closed in 2015 after five years. The chefs will continue to produce freshly made udon and dashi, and the popular English Breakfast udon will still be a feature on the menu, along with new additions like the poached egg and bonito rice, and the kakiage tempura udon.
