Description

This cosy destination in Brixton is all about great food for good causes. Cafe Van Gogh is a non-profit social enterprise serving an entirely vegan menu while giving something back to the community at the same time. What's more, their welcoming space is themed around the painter, with Starry Night ceilings and sunflowers dotted about.

They work in collaboration with Toucan Employment, a learning disability charity that helps people with additional challenges in life to find paid employment. There's also the option to pay it forward at this venue, meaning that customers can buy a 'suspended coffee' or other soft drink for someone else to claim later on.

As for the food on offer, no two visits are the same since the menu changes every six to eight weeks. You can always expect delicious plant-based goodness though, with sample dishes including crispy oyster mushrooms, chickpea burgers and baked cauliflower, as well as a vast array of tasty brunch plates. They've got a fully licensed bar to boot, serving vegan beers, wines and refreshing cocktails.

You can rest assured that all the food waste here is composted too, and you can do the same with your takeaway cups and containers as they're totally biodegradable.
