Description
Dr Anna Sulan Masing will host an evening celebrating women writing in food. From fiction to recipe books, we'll be joined by an author, novelist, memoirist and chef who will discuss how they write about food, why food is important to them, important to write about, and look at the foods they choice write about. Join us alongside, Bre Graham, Emma Hughes, Chloe-Rose Crabtree and Angela Hui for drinks, panel conversation and kefir making.
Tickets: £15 and includes a drink on entry.
Dr Anna Sulan Masing
Anna is co-founder of SOURCED, and a writer, academic and poet. She is co-founder and editor-in-chief of Cheese magazine, and her podcast series, A Taste of Place by Whetstone Radio Collective launched in September 2022. Her debut book, Chines And Other Asian, will be published by Weidenfeld & Nicolson.
Bre Graham
Bre is a food writer, editor and author. Originally from Sydney, she grew up in Singapore and has been based in London for the last eleven years. Currently, she is the Lifestyle Editor at Courier Media, writes the hit weekly food newsletter Dishes to Delight and has written for Harper's Bazaar, The Guardian, Vogue, VICE and more. She hosts podcasts, events and supper clubs and works across a number of projects from live events to content creation. Her debut cookbook Table For Two was published by DK Books and Penguin Random House in January 2023.
Emma Hughes
Emma is a London-based writer and editor whose work has appeared in The Guardian, Time Out, Wired, ES, Grazia, Conde Nast Traveller and more. By day she's the Features Editor of Waitrose Food Magazine, and by night she writes books. Her first novel, No Such Thing As Perfect, was shortlisted for the Lucy Cavendish Prize, and he latest, It's Complicated, was published by Penguin this summer - it's about friends, families and fertility issues.
Chloe-Rose Crabtree
Chloe is co-founder of SOURCED, and a chef, historian, writer and editor. She focuses her research on how food cultures develop and flourish. You can find her cooking and baking at Bake Street in Stoke Newington where they offer coffee, bakes and a changing menu of weekend specialties.
Angela Hui
Angela Hui is an award-winning journalist, editor and author of Takeaway: Stories from a Childhood Behind the Counter. Her work has been published in gal-dem, Guardian, Financial Times, Sunday Times, Independent, Lonely Planet, Refinery29, and Vice, among others. She was the former food and drinks editor at Time Out and lifestyle reporter at HuffPost. Currently, she's freelance.
