The Horse & Groom Easter Disco with Ray Mang, Tommy Vicari Jnr (Cabinet, Robosoul), Untitled, Discovery

The legendary Horse and Groom Easter Disco returns on Thursday 24th March with 2 fantastic headliners Ray Mang (Mangled) and Tommy Vicari Jnr (Cabinet, Robosoul) joining the party crews over both floors.

The Horse and Groom (the original disco pub) is renowned for throwing fun fuelled Easter bank holiday parties with previous guest including Rahaan (Chicago) Tornado Wallace, Chateau Flight, Eric Duncan, Eddie Richards (Fabric), Greg Wilson to name a few of the great guest who have played over the years!

Carrying in the tradition of great guests, bargain ticket prices and 2 floors of fun till 4am plus and school on the Friday! ! As usual tickets are a crazy £3 from RA.

Upstairs- Untitled Easter Thursday has become a regular fixture for us since we settled into our new home at the Horse & Groom a couple of years ago. Previous guests include Stephane Ghenacia and Eddie Richards which made for a couple of pretty special parties. This year we’ve pulled out all the stops and our special guest will be revealed in the next week so keep your eyes peeled but it’s safe to say this one’s a biggie!

Joining us on the night is Ricardo De Meneses who we met last year on our travels to Sunwaves in Romania. Many a Jaeger was consumed listening to great music and we struck up an immediate bond on the dance floor. We’re really looking forward to hearing his blend of minimal and tech groovers warming things up.

As usual our residents Ewan Smith & Chris Graham will be taking you through their unique blend of deep, groove heavy house and techno. We are excepting this to be a busy one so get down early to avoid disappointment.

Downstairs- Discovery- Joining residents Neil Thornton & Jac the Disco for a magic carpet ride of disco and house past and present is the legendary London based producer du jour and dj Ray Mang (Mangled) .

Ray Mang

UK DJ / Producer / Remixer and all-round studio boffin, known to his mates as Raj Gupta, is definitely not a new boy on the Disco Dance scene.

He launched his own label Mangled in ’98 with a slew of killer 12-inches. Two albums followed: ‘Mangled’ (Eskimo) and ‘Mangled Again’ on his own imprint, as well as singles on R&S, Smash Hit and Bear Funk.

As a remixer his phone never stops ringing. He’s notched up credits for Lassigue Bendthaus, Banda Black Rio, Gorillaz, Shirley Bassey, Beck, Roxy Music / Bryan Ferry, Doves, Freddie Mercury, Bloc Party, Friendly Fires & Los Amigos Invisibles with Dimitri From Paris to name just a few.

And then there are his incendiary DJ sets. A night with Ray Mang soars over the past 40 years of dance music, pulling in house, disco, boogie, cosmic, Balearic, along with anything that takes his fancy and sneak previews of his own forthcoming monsters. He’s made a name for himself playing clubs and festivals across the globe and back over recent years. 2015 saw him play in Sao Paulo (Orb), Brasilia (Picnic Festival), New York (Good Room), Washington (Eighteenth St. Lounge), Wiltshire (Wild Life Festival), Bali (White Magic Sunsets), Melbourne (Boney), Sydney (Harpoon Harry’s), Croatia (Elecrtric Elephant Festival), Wales (Festival No. 6), Athens and many more with dates already lined up in France, England, Russia, Germany, and back to Brazil for new year!

TOMMY VICARI JNR

We’ve all heard of a “DJ’s DJ” before, but Tommy stands as someone more than that. A DJ’s “producer” too, Tommy’s music seems to get snatched up and played by a spectrum of international DJs, most famously by Ricardo Villalobos and Francesco Del Garda. A lover of all types of formats, from mp3 to vinyl, Tommy delivers one impressive EP after the other, from House and Disco edits to minimal and Detroit techno... tracks irresistible on the dance floor.

Tommy also homes a handful of different labels, such as his own Comfortable Records and its sub label, Vanity, both of which he founded with fellow music partner Gunnar Viggosson (the pair make up “techno duo”, 76 79). Let’s not forget his many labels on Bandcamp and his contributions to well-respected 320KB Music.

Hailing from Sheffield, Tommy, Thomas, Tomsky, Tommaso, is beloved by music fans and DJs all around Europe. He makes his rounds too, DJing at intimate underground parties, such as Sleepers at Club Der Visionaere in Berlin.
