Upstairs - Downstairs is back after our summer break. Join us upstairs in the Horse and Groom for the first in our new series of parties! This time we have down Axe On Wax’s head Fede LNG, Modern Jam from Marseille’s Jardins Suspendous and Fortune from the successful London parties Fall Up while downstairs Discovery return asDiscovery Residents Neil Thornton & Jac The Disco invite Jay Bakal into the DJ Booth. Jay Bakal – Co-founder of Esoteric Club nights and regular at Alfresco Events and Shoreditch’s well known ‘disco pub’ The Horse and Groom, after more than 20 years at the decks Jay is still immersing himself in all things house music.
With roots in disco, Motown, electronic synth pop and ska and an ardent raver and pirate radio fan, Jay has amassed a huge collection of records dating back to the 70’s. Having played US House gigs at some of London’s most iconic venues such as Madam Jojos, Paradise Club, Wag, Leisure Lounge and also at his then much-loved venue the Ministry of Sound, in more recent times Jay’s music style has evolved and whilst still playing house also pulls on other genres such as techno, indie dance and deep house. With several projects lined up for 2016 Jay is also looking forward to sharing a summer festival stage for Cowbell’s Alfresco Events with big names like Jennifer Cardini, Vox Low and Ivan Smagghe

5. The venue reserves the right to refuse admission and may on occasion have to conduct security searches to ensure the safety of the patrons.
6. Every effort to admit latecomers will be made at a suitable break in the event, but admission cannot always be guaranteed.
7. We regret that tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded after purchase.
