Decks And The City – Thursday 28 January

If you are looking to shake-off the post-Christmas and New Year holiday blues then Decks and the City is the place to come. The crowd is always eclectic, knowledgeable and discerning in its musical tastes. The place is cosy and the atmosphere convivial. Whether you want to come down with your crew or on your own, the welcome is always warm and you are guaranteed to hear superb music, meet interesting people, and to have your ideas challenged.

This month sees the return of business banking analyst Jay A who will be opening proceedings from 8pm. He will be followed, by Decks and the City debutant, Huckleberry Spin, insurance sector analyst who will be offering up a variety of tunes before Ali takes over at 10.30pm.

The event will be on Thursday 28 January from 8pm – 1am

The line-up is as follows:

8pm – 9.15pm – Jay A
Jay found House music as he explored music styles through college and university. Starting with faster DnB before mellowing down to find a groovier speed around 120bpm, he picked up some decks and has been collecting records ever since. He works working as a Business Analyst at a major UK bank in the change delivery function. This involves managing the delivery of Clearing Project
Here are some tracks he might play:

Roisin murphy - House of Glass (Maurice Fulton Mix)

Fatima Yamaha - Whats a girl to do?

Andres - New for you

Arnie Love and the Lovettes - We've had enough -

9.15pm - 10.30pm - Huckleberry Spin

Hucklebery Spin works at an insurance broker based in Tower Hill on a 2 year graduate scheme. He is currently in the Corporate New Business Division learning a broker's craft of attaining valuable clients for the business.
His interest in DJing began in his first year at Nottingham Uni when he found the trusty Virtual DJ. He played around with that for about a year and then decided to take the plunge and buy a Pioneer controller which he still uses. He got into House music and started going to house nights at Stealth in Nottingham. He is now trying to save up for his first mixer and set of CDJs as well as seeing where this hobby on the side can take him.

Some tracks that will be played on the night include:

Sister Sledge - Lost in music (Dimitri from Paris remix)

Bicep & Hammer "Dahlia"

Black Box - Ride On Time (Vibe Killers Remix)

Ninetoes - Finder (Original)

Armand Van Helden - You Don't Know Me

10.30pm - close Ali Miraj
If you work in the City want to join in the fun by spinning then contact Ali at as we are keen to showcase new talent.
