Decks and The City – 31.3.17
The “Decks and the City” third anniversary party was held at the end of February and what an amazing night it was. The place was totally packed from 9pm and you could feel the beats in the air. The crowd was teased and cajoled with a superb opening set from Jay A who was followed by the soulful house guru, Johnny El. The celebratory vibe was taken to the next level by Conor McGovern and the length of the queue to get in told its own story. This month we will be joined by Matthew John, a new face from the London Sound Academy stable and by the young talent, Huckelberry Spin. The masterful Overtone will be flying from Glasgow to headline the event.

He discovered DJing at his local Indie night at university, before developing a passion for all types of electronic music. Hucklebery Spin works at an insurance broker based in Tower Hill on a 2 year graduate scheme. He is currently in the Corporate New Business Division learning a broker's craft of attaining valuable clients for the business.
His interest in DJing began in his first year at Nottingham Uni when he found the trusty Virtual DJ. He played around with that for about a year and then decided to take the plunge and buy a Pioneer controller which he still uses. He got into House music and started going to house nights at Stealth in Nottingham. He is now trying to save up for his first mixer and set of CDJs as well as seeing where this hobby on the side can take him.

Overtone
Overtone got into DJ'ing in his early teens and has now recently become resident DJ at BarTen, Glasgow, and is a previous guest at Decks in the City. He is currently working for RBS and is responsible for a Risk and Control stream within RBS' Transformation Programme.
He has just bought some new equipment so will be doing live sampling and editing. We can’t wait to see him in action.
