"Boy Better Know consists of JME, Skepta, Frisco, Shorty, Jammer and Maximum, and along the way has housed other grime artists like Chip, Wiley and more, yes many MCs but just one DJ and that DJ is (and always has been) Maximum. A Roll Deep Original, Maximum is a originator of the witty, energetic, high velocity MC-led Grime that is synonymous with the BBK sound. Whether standing behind Skepta, JME or Frisco on a stage in front of 100,000 fans or DJing solo at fashion events, core club nights and festivals, Maximum is firmly established now as one of few longstanding Grime pioneers and musical curators. What separates Maximum from the sprawl of homogenous grime DJs out there is his devout allegiance not only to BBK, but the world of pirate radio. He was present at essential battles such as the now infamous Dizzee vs. Crazy Titch feud at Deja Vu FM, and DJ’d for one of grime’s most important clashes between Wiley and Lethal Bizzle in 2006.
