It was the first time I attended a screening at The Grand and I'll definitely be back! However, I would advise anyone who actually wants to properly hear and see the film to get there early and bag a seat before joining the long queue to the free cloak room. The choice of food and drinks was a bit limited but I had eaten before and enjoyed the Labyrinth-themed cocktail. The live act was surprisingly good and the crowd was totally up for getting into the music, which created a great atmosphere. Also had my make-up done, as had most girls (and boys). I somehow missed the advertised "masquerade ball masks" but overall it was a great event for fantastic value for money. Verena visited The Grand on 13 Jan 2017

Great night out. Enjoyed watching Labyrinth on the big screen and will def attend future movie screenings at The Grand, but please fix the bass, it was too intense so the words weren't intelligible. The Goblin King host was jokes and super entertaining. The Bowie tribute band was good although it made me sad I didn't get to see him in concert while he was still alive. The Grand still stinks of smelly feet & piss & is still bloody freezing since my last visit 6 years ago but everyone was in a great mood to have fun. Staff were lovely, drinks generous & I love the manager's dancing! I'll be back but please, heating & bleach. Thanks. Sophie visited The Grand on 13 Jan 2017

The screening was amazing, the decorations and face painting was on point. The free coatchrck was perfect, and was a definite bonus. The photobooth as always was great, and the staff were super nice. The only problem was with The Grand itself. They only serve beer and wine, not even the standard fruit ciders that you can find at literally every other club. Also NO COCKTAILS- they have their one theme cocktail for £9 a glass, and thats it! The sampler shot was really good, but they need to bring what they have on offer up to srandard and get fruit ciders, or even a basic cocktail list. They have a huge bar of alcohol, but when you ask they say they dont do cocktails. Lots of people were without drinks most of the night, and a lot of people left after the screening to go to other pubs. Fix this bit and you can get people to stay! The night was good, the venue is amazing, great entertainment, the staff are lovely... However the sound was awful, the bass and the background sound was louder than the characters voices. Perhaps it was to do with where i was sitting... a few rows in, in the middle. The Jurassic Park trailer in the beginning made my seat vibrate. I also felt a cold draft every so often so had to sit in my jacket all the way through, it was absolutely freezing outside that night. Diana visited The Grand on 13 Jan 2017

Really enjoyed this event, from the special effects running alongside the film to the props provided, the games and the band afterwards were really good. I really liked the venue as well, will be interested to see what events they have in future. My only criticism was the fact they advertised that they had pizza so no need to worry about eating beforehand- £2 for a small slice of lukewarm margherita, no thanks! Amazing night. Staff were fantastic and unbelievable value for money. If I have one small criticism I paid by contactless at the bar and tried to request a receipt but the staff member walked away before I could request it. He also had not told me how much I was being charged. I think bar staff should check with customers if they want a receipt Karin visited The Grand on 13 Jan 2017

Brilliant event ! Really really cheap tickets! Good atmosphere and a wide range of entertainment plus the chance to win a bottle of champagne by throwing a plastic baby around on stage (think musical chairs but with a babe ) tessa wolfka visited The Grand on 13 Jan 2017
