Summer comes early to London

What a beautiful Easter Weekend in London! The designmynight team has been in sunshine mood and we started our Easter break with some well earned sun downers in a favourite spot of ours. With sunshine and hot temperatures there is no better place in London than Vista Bar, the fancy rooftop bar of The Trafalgar Hotel. This is our little secret bar of London to sit back in, sink a nice cool and happily affordable Gin and Tonic and take in the stunning views of our great city London. We also tried out the drinkonomical bar of 101 Bar on Tottenham Court Road. This bar may well be one of the best happy hours in London so for cheap drinks in central London this is the place to head.

There has been high demand for London rooftop bar recommendations what with the beautiful weather so make sure you check our pick of the best Roof top bars in London. Of course we have seen the sun seekers flocking to the beer gardens of London in search of the great outdoors to enjoy their favourite tipple. Beer gardens in London are harder to find then you might think so run your eye over our best beer gardens in London.

London is a busy place right now, what with the Royal Wedding on the horizon this weekend, but that hasn€™t stopped the London nightlife scene. We are on London new bar alert with an exciting project at the O2 Arena, Alphabet City. Headed up by Frank Dowling from the Alphabet Group, it promises to deliver a hip and lavish experience at this multi purpose members bar, lounge and live performance space. They also have plans to launch Gresham Club in Bank on the site of a historic vaulted building in July.

News from Barts bar in Chelsea has got the tongues wagging in our office. They are opening an exotic Cuban garden in a tie up with Havana Club Rum. It comes complete with palms, tropical plants and rum barrels, we already think that this will be our Latino den of pleasure this summer! Another outdoor drinking destination of choice this summer could be the soon-to-open Tom€™s Terrace at Somerset House. The brainchild of Michelin-starred chef Tom Aikens opens on May 9th so picture yourself sat on the banks of the River Thames under a canopy sipping on delicious cocktails from the beautifully named Elderflower Collins to the fiery Red Chilli Martini.

Finally a few last minute Royal wedding tips this weekend in London. For the adventurous among you perhaps you could head south to Clapham Common and enjoy a royal tea party with fellow campers staying for the night at the Camp Royale. For those just wanting an excuse for a party with friends, picnics, drinks, cocktails and the wedding as a sideshow then Hyde Park is probably the destination of choice for you. Have a fabulous Royal Weekend!
