Drink Amongst Fossils and Bones at This Gorgeous Museum Bar

Still Life Hackney Museum Cafe Bar

Drink and dine amongst fossils and taxidermy critters as this Well Street watering hole.

A cafe and bar that doubles as a miniature zoological museum, Still Life seems eccentric even for Hackney. However, this dinky Well Street spot is anything but stuffy.

With a focus on natural wines (as well as natural curiosities), gourmet brunches and craft and cultural workshops, this charming venue is offering something a little more out of the ordinary for the casual drinker. Starting with their collection of artefacts and ethical taxidermy, they're making the Insta-interiors aesthetic a little more educational. Cases are filled with fossils, shells, meteorite shards and even some ancient poop, perfect for perusing while you wait for plates of delicious croquettas and their innovative breakfast and lunch offerings.

Their wine list is small but perfectly formed, and very reasonably priced - with biodynamic, vegan and organic glasses coming in at between £4.50 and £7.50. Pitch up come brunctime though and you'll be able to wash down your eggs with rosemary mimosas.

You can find Still Life at 263 Well Street, London, E9 6RG. They're open from 10am-5pm on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, and from 10am-Midnight on Friday and Saturday.
