We visit Mamalan as they launch their fifth home in Shoreditch

Mamalan Dumplings Restaurant Review

Scoot down to Shoreditch High Street for crispy chicken wings and traditional Beijing food.

Mamalan, whose success stems from serving street food many moons ago, have spread their wings to open up a fifth London venue. Boating 28 bird cages and a shiny new cocktail list, the people of Shoreditch can now count on quality evenings fuelled by flavoursome Beijing food. Handmade dumplings, spicy chicken wings and slow-cooked pork buns are amongst the many dishes to choose from, all of which go hand in hand with the new selection of cocktails on offer. If you’re after a heady drink to wash down your food, you can’t go wrong with Lucky Number 8. It’s spiked with Absinthe and comes presented with a neat staircase of freshly sliced apple.

Weaving its way through London hotspots like Brixton and Dalston, Mamalan have made one thing clear; Londoners are hungry for traditional Chinese dishes. With reasonable prices and a 24 seated venue screaming industrial chic, this place is sure to be packed from opening to close.
