Lumo Introduces New London To Stirling Route

When Is Lumo’s Stirling To London Launch Date?

Tickets are already on sale for journeys from 10 July through to the end of summer, with the service expected to begin before the end of July. An exact launch date hasn't been confirmed yet, but earlier dates are expected to go on sale in the coming weeks. The plan is for four services a day between the two cities (three on Sundays), plus an additional Preston to London return.

How Much Will It Cost?

The sale fare is £29.90 for a London to Stirling single booked well in advance. If you're only travelling part of the route, London to Preston starts at £23.90, and Preston to Stirling from £14.90. Like most Lumo tickets, the earlier you book, the better the price.

Hot tip: Railcard holders can enjoy even cheaper fares.

What Are The Trains Like?

Lumo is running refurbished Class 222 trains on the route, featuring a sleek grey and silver interior with new seating. One thing to note, is that Lumo doesn't offer different class options (which is partly how they keep their fares so low). There's free wifi on board, and an at-seat catering trolley for snacks and drinks along the way.

Where Else Does It Stop?

The service runs along the West Coast Main Line, calling at:

  • London Euston
  • Milton Keynes
  • Nuneaton
  • Crewe
  • Preston
  • Carlisle
  • Lockerbie
  • Motherwell
  • Whifflet
  • Greenfaulds
  • Larbert
  • and Stirling
