Get ready for ABBA singalongs and Mediterranean bites as Mamma Mia: The Party comes to London

Mamma Mia The Party in Waterloo London

Mediterranean food and all the ABBA your ears can take - my heart is all aflutter.

Mamma Mia! Here we go again. No seriously, Mamma Mia is coming back again, but instead of a sell-out musical theatre show or a star-spangled movie that even the grumpiest of boyfriends dragged to see it actually loved, it's a full-blown party in London courtesy of one-quarter of ABBA, Björn Ulvaeus.

Having obviously seen the carnage a singalong version of the film can do to a normally reserved British culture, Mamma Mia: The Party will transform the London setting into a Greek taverna (no prizes for guessing where), complete with Mediterranean food and more ouzo than at 4am during a New Year’s Eve Party. Guests will get to feast while watching a brand-new story that features some of the major bangers from the original, alongside show-stopping songs that you never knew you needed. But unlike those pesky theatres, people are encouraged to sing and dance to their heart’s content, just as ABBA intended.

Planning permission is still being sought for the site on Stamford Road, Waterloo, but ABBA super-fans should stay tuned for more details.
