The Last Tuesday Society Has Launched London's First Ever Absinthe Distillery

Devil's Botany Absinthe Distillery Last Tuesday Society London
Hackney's quirkiest establishment has created its own suitably unique absinthe.

First they set up a museum, then they opened a bar in the museum and now they're launching London's first ever absinthe distillery to supply the bar; when it comes to blazing their own trail, The Last Tuesday Society really aren't holding anything back.

The East London watering hole has brought out its own brand of absinthe, Devil's Botany, made from ingredients foraged around Walthamstow and the Hackney Marshes. The Mare Street bar had already made a name for itself as one of the premier locations for keen absinthe drinkers, offering a mammoth range of bottles from France and Switzerland, vibrant cocktails and a weekly happy hour, or 'L'Heure Vert'.

The new Leyton-based distillery, run by LTS owners Rhys Everett and Allison Crawbuck, has already been hard at working creating the inaugural batch of the spirit - a sip infused with fennel, Swiss wormwood, green anise and Devil's Claw root. There are currently just 750 bottles available, so you'll want to be quick if you're hoping to nab a sip of absinthe history.

You can find Devil's Botany Distillery at 16A Heybridge Way, London, E10 7NQ. Bottles and tasters of their first batch are available from their online shop, with prices between £12 - £40.
