A Harry Potter Inspired Pub With Real Life (ish) Magic Could Be Coming To London

The Cauldron London

We may not have got our Hogwarts letter but looks like trips to the pub are going to get even more magical.

Thought floating candles and magic wands were firmly stuck in the pages of a book? Well it's time to think again as a Harry Potter themed pub is being brought to life right here in London. The Cauldron will feature magic wands that work with touch technology to light fires, dim lights and most importantly, pour beer. Candles will float in midair through the use of magnets and the food and drink menu will be inspired by literature with cocktails such as Liquid Luck and Veritas.

The brainchild of technology entrepreneur Matthew Cortland, The Cauldron is dependent on Kickstarter in order to become a reality. Those who donate could see their names written in permanent ink or even be turned into one of the venue's moving pictures. There is also a Wiki page on which fans came make suggestions for different dishes. As well as a boozer, the spot will also be a laboratory as well as homing hundreds of books which are guests are actively encouraged to read. There will also be social projects such as educational school trips, and the pub works with Harry Potter Alliance - a group who make activism possible through story telling - and Accio Books which aims to build classroom libraries.

You can help Kickstart The Cauldron here, with donations opening on Monday 26th June 2017 and ending on 31st July 2017 (HARRY POTTER'S BIRTHDAY, PEOPLE).
