tribute to Lady Day, inspired by the legendary 1956 concert where
Billie Holiday's music was accompanied by extracts from her
autobiography, "Lady Sings The Blues."
Vocalist: The outstanding
London vocalist Riketté Genesis delivers unique interpretations of
Billie Holiday's catalogue, intertwining her performances with
quotes from Holiday's extraordinary life story.
Musical Direction: Led by
pianist and musical director Alex Webb, the band brings to life
many of Holiday’s most well-known songs.
Setlist Includes:
Optimistic 1930s classics like "What
A Little Moonlight Can Do" and "Fine And Mellow"
1940s torch songs such as "My Man"
and "I Cover The Waterfront"

Billie Holiday's memoir remains a
unique document, with the New York Herald Tribune calling it, "One
of the most candid self-portraits ever painted on a typewriter."
Over half a century later, it retains the power to shock and
intrigue.
About Riketté Genesis
Riketté Genesis is a jazz vocalist
specializing in swing era material. She recently released the EP
"Busy Line," highlighting her traditional gypsy jazz and swing
influences. Riketté has performed at top UK venues such as the
Southbank Centre, The Radio Academy Festival, WOW Festival,
Wilderness Festival, and The Citadel Festival. She also performed
at Nigeria's leading music venue in Lagos for the Satchmo’s Jazz
Festival.
About Alex Webb
Alex Webb is a pianist, arranger,
and songwriter with a long history of collaborating with leading
jazz vocalists. His songs have been recorded by Liane Carroll,
China Moses, Jo Harrop, Allan Harris, Cherise, Ayanna
Witter-Johnson, and many others. He created "Cafe Society Swing"
and co-composed "Stormy: The Life of Lena Horne," along with many
other themed live jazz shows.

2. Tickets are issued subject to the rules and regulations of the venue.
3. Please check your tickets, as mistakes cannot always be rectified.
4. Occasionally, events are cancelled or postponed by the promoter, team, performer or venue for a variety of reasons. If the event is cancelled, please contact us for information on receiving a refund from the responsible party. If the event was moved or rescheduled, the venue or promoter may set refund limitations. It is your responsibility to ascertain the date and time of any rearranged event.
5. The venue reserves the right to refuse admission and may on occasion have to conduct security searches to ensure the safety of the patrons.
