Dread: the Viewing
For a
long time, Ockham House has stood silent. The once-beautiful
Victorian manor, long abandoned after the tragic end of the man who
built it, lay in ruins and disrepair until a genius developer chose
it for his most ambitious project ever.
Now completely renovated and turned into a luxury smart house with a fully automated AI system, Ockham House is on the market again. You have been lucky enough to get a spot on the house’s first open viewing.
But is this going to be a dream house, or the beginnings of a nightmare?
Dread is a psychological horror game in which players pull from a Jenga tower to determine who succeeds… and who dies. You will role play as your chosen character to face the dangers of the game and try to make it alive to the other side.
Trigger warnings:
this is an immersive horror RPG with a strong psychological component and as such may include fairly strong and upsetting themes. Trigger warnings for death, mental illness, gore, violence, manipulation, domestic violence/abuse, evil AI.
What you need to bring:
all players will be provided with a character questionnaire before the session. It would be great if this could be filled in at least 24h in advance.
We are going to play with an additional d20 for skill-based checks, so if you have a lucky d20, bring it (otherwise dice will be provided).
No previous knowledge of experience of the game is required.
All
players who attend our events must read and agree to
our Code of Conduct. By
playing at the Arcanist's Tavern you agree to abide by the terms of
our Code of Conduct at all times.
Please note, all sessions begin at 6:30 promptly. If you arrive
after games have begun, there is no guarantee that we will be able
to seat you at a table.

Code of Conduct: We expect all players to read and abide by our Code of Conduct at all times. This can be found here: https://arcaniststavern.uk/safety. Any breach of our code of conduct will lead to a cautioning or permanent ban from the venue.
Lateness: All sessions begin at the listed time promptly. If you arrive after this time we may not be able to guide you to your table. In these instances you will not be refunded. We suggest arriving at least 15 minutes before the ticketed start time for the best experience.
Outside Food: We are an independent business, and do not allow outside food or drink to be consumed on the premises.
Animals: We do not allow animals to attend any of our ticketed events, partnered or otherwise. This is due to sensory, allergy and trigger issues.
