Good Society is a game of balls, estates, sly glances, and turns about the garden - at least on the surface. Underneath this, just as in Austen's own novels, it is a game about social ambition, family obligation, and breathtaking, heart-stopping longing.
In this 2 session game, you and your fellow players will work together to create your very own Jane Austen novel. You will take on the role of a major character, similar to those found in Austen's books -from a wealthy heir who falls in love with the aloof new arrival, to a charming socialite bent on ruining the reputation of their rivals. Players in Good Society hold the power to control the story itself, and change it to produce more drama, romance, and scandal.

This Game will take part over two sessions, on the 6th/08/2026 and 13th/08/2026. The Ticket will get you access to both of these sessions.

PRE-GENS PROVIDED?:

In Good Society, building characters at the table together, agreeing pre-existing connections and establishing each character’s ambitions is an essential (and enjoyable!) part of playing the game. We will be using a pre-existing ‘playset’ – a set of character archetypes that complement one another – as the basis for character creation.

CONTENT WARNINGS:

The game will have a romantic comedy tone with both light and dark, funny and touching moments, as well as genuine threats and antagonism. This is a good game for those new to Good Society who are comfortable roleplaying blossoming romantic relationships.
Class and social status will be a theme of the game. The Game will be set in an imagined alternative version of Regency England where gender power balance is off and therefore it is normal for people of all genders to:
· Have significant and respectable careers
· Make the first move
· Inherit entailed estates
· Have marital relationships with all genders
The system encourages player on player romance and relationships. While it is not necessary for everybody to take part in this, it is an essential part of the Game.

PLEASE NOTE: This session will begin promptly at 6:30PM. If you arrive later than this, we may not be able to seat you at a table.
When you arrive, please head to the bar in the Apothecary to check in! We suggest arriving 15 minutes before the ticketed start time to ensure you have time to grab a drink and settle in.
