Emerging from the darkness of Old Street Station, desperate for a toilet pit-stop; you'd head into the first venue you could find, The Nelson's Retreat. We all did it! No longer though, shall this grand Old Street institution be consigned to a bar to simply pass through, as the venue has been taken over by new owners and has reopened as Canvas Bar as a cool art lovers paradise, serving delicious cocktails and in a creative and vibrant setting.

It's about time something happened to this Old street venue, and Canvas Bar promises to breathe offer a breath of fresh air. Adding more than a lick of paint, Canvas has established the site as a cool cocktail bar serving up some classic mixtures to the Shoreditch masses. As well as the cocktails, freshly baked pizzas add a great taste of Italy, and the bar also leans heavily towards artistic influences, featuring exhibits of unique pieces from local artists every couple of months.
