Join us at Boisdale of Mayfair for an enlightening evening tasting Jura Whisky at The Mayfair Whisky Club, which takes place on Tuesday, 2nd October at 7pm.
Our events are fun and educational and include complimentary Jura Whisky and haggis on toast and welsh rarebit.
Our Whisky
Diurachs believe anything is possible. After all, there are easier places to make whisky. To rebuild the distillery and revive the island took grit and courage. It’s this same spirit that goes into distilling Jura Single Malt Whisky today, giving it qualities like no other.
Hand crafted by our team in some of the tallest stills in Scotland, 25ft. 4 inches to be exact, we use the purest water from Market Loch. Together this ensures that the new make spirit we produce is light in style with fresh lemon and grassy flavours. It’s these notes that give our spirit its Highland character, and allow it to mature and soften perfectly in hand selected American White Oak ex-bourbon barrels for a minimum of three years.
Our maturing whisky then meets a selection of fine European Oak cask finishes; and comes together under the experienced palate of the whisky making team.
Our Signature Style
In 2017 Jura 10 Year Old was launched in the US, and in March 2018 Jura revealed its brand new
signature style of sweet and subtly smoky whisky.
With the announcement Jura revealed two entirely new ranges of whiskies globally – one for domestic markets, and an exclusive collection for global travellers.
The unique signature style combines sweetness from maturation in American White Oak ex-bourbon barrels with a hint of subtle smoke. Each whisky further enhanced by specially selected casks from around Europe. This combination sees Highland and Island styles combine to create a distinctive, welcoming character.
The new direction and ten expressions signifies an exciting dawn in Jura’s story.
The Jura Signature Series, launched in 2018, features five distinct whiskies which reveal a new signature style from the Jura distillery and represent a reinvented single malt whisky.
Each of the five expressions is matured in American White Oak ex-bourbon barrels, with four of the distinctive whiskies enhanced by a variety of unique European wine casks. The whiskies are united by a subtle smoke which is present in each expression.This collection is available in domestic markets across the world.
