West End star, and powerhouse, Sharon D Clarke brings her solo cabaret show of show songs, jazz and soul to the Hippodrome.
Sharon originated the role of Killer Queen in We Will Rock You for which she won the What’s on Stage Best Supporting Performance Award, alongside an Olivier Nomination. She has appeared in many West End shows including Hairspray (Motormouth Maybelle), Guys and Dolls (General Cartwright), Fame (Miss Sherman), The Lion King (Rafiki), Chicago (Mama Morton, Rent (Joanne), Once On This Island (Asaka) and Ghost the Musical (Oda Mae Brown). Sharon is also known for her role of Dr Lola Griffin in the popular BBC drama Holby City, for which she received The Screen Nation Award for Best Female Performance on TV.
Sharon’s performance as Odessa in The Amen Corner at the National Theatre won her an Olivier Award. In January 2016 Sharon received critical acclaim when she returned to the National to star in August Wilson’s classic play Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.
