The Roof Gardens Kensington - London Club Reviews

A stone’s throw from High Street Kensington tube station and down a wide side-street you will find a unique space that seems a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of West London’s popular shopping high street. The Roof Gardens is a strictly 21 and over private members club, open for drinking, dancing and partying on Fridays and Saturdays, and offering a night out unrivalled anywhere else in the city.

The Venue

Set amidst 1.5 acres of stunning rooftop gardens, 100 feet above Kensington High Street, this elegant and chic club offers a dance floor, a few bars, copious amounts of out-door space for exploring in the twilight and a VIP area or two. It’s elegant and bright, and there's not even a hint of a grimy sticky floor. This is the kind of place you want to make an effort for, because it truly makes an effort for you - after all, the dress code is strictly no effort, no entry.

Outside the gardens are beautiful. You could compare it to the stunning manicured gardens of the royal palaces with elegant alcoves and ivy wrapped cloisters, beautiful flowers and shrubbery and pretty little water features.

There are also plenty of private areas available for you to host parties, events and even weddings.

A decadent nightclub in amongst 1.5 acres of stunning gardens; there's nowhere quite like this exclusive party palace.

What To Expect

While you can eat at the Roof Gardens during the day, my visit was to enjoy the club night which runs from 10pm-2am on Fridays and Saturdays, so therefore it was all about the selection of drinks they had on offer at each of the bars dotted around the venue.

We had ourselves a table in the VIP area. These must be booked in advance and each table can host up to 10 people for both sitting and standing. The tables get you the full VIP treatment and acts as a great base for when you want to take a break from dancing or enjoy a drink. Our VIP table came complete with our own personal cocktail waitress which eliminated any need for us to wait at the bar.

The drinks are certainly on the pricier end of the scale, with the house bottles of spirit starting from the £200 mark (though it’s worth noting that house bottles are still fantastic quality spirits unlike a nameless brand you might get in a low end club, and your mixers come included in that price too!) We had our ice bucket for our bottle of Bombay Sapphire on our table and plenty of bottles of FeverTree tonic and lemonade to go around. There is a minimum spend on these tables, though that depends on which table you go for, but if you have a large group it shouldn’t be a struggle to spend.

Along with a few rounds of Tequila shots complete with lime wedges and salt, we were ready to hit the dance floor. The music is a combination of dance and popular chart remixes - perfect for getting those hips moving. For a bit of quiet, the gardens are perfect for chilling out, and this is one of the only places in Central London I’ve ever been able to see the stars so clearly, so it can get a bit romantic out here too!

The Roof Gardens offer an ideal location for special occasions and glitzy nights out.

Summary

The Roof Gardens are a superb place to see in your weekend in style. Its unique setting oozes chic elegance and makes it a wonderful venue to celebrate a birthday or special occasion, or even just a Friday night.

It probably won’t be a cheap night out but it certainly will be a memorable one, and one you will hope to enjoy again and again.

Visitors to the Roof Gardens must be on a guest-list to gain entry, so make sure your name is down and head along to enjoy one of the most stylish clubbing experiences in London!
