The Silver Bullet
Thursday 24 July 2014
Bop Gun launches in London after establishing itself in Dublin - bringing the funk on two fronts. Taking the spirit of George Clinton's psyched out funk jams and bringing it to bear on genre-busting DJ sets. DJ Controlled Weirdness has been gigging for 30 years now – starting off with a love for the Streetsounds electro compilations, early hip hop, funk, and moving into many shades of electronic grooves and bass over the years. We reckon he the man for the “Funk-time continuum “ challenge. Check out his South London Bass show on ILL FM.
Pete Cadden – native of Monaghan, Ireland, now residing in London – co-founder of Amen Brother events and label with Niall Kirk, contributor to www.mntothat.com and also involved in genre spanning electronic dance event Nonline. Expect many dots joined between funk, disco, electro, b-boy styles and beyond.
thatboytim and Platinum Ray started Bop Gun in Dublin where they've hosted the cream of Irish funkateers such as Kenny Hanlon (Apartment Recs/Infinitestatemachine), David Kitt (New Jackson), and UK guests such as Duke Slammer ( Bonus Round). Operating on a electrofunk/p-unk/boogie/house/disco/freestyle tip , expect the pleasantly unexpected.
The Silver Bullet is a great small club just opposite the main exit from Finsbury park station - great vibe, great beers and drinks.
