Apples & Pears Presents: Ivan Melo, Tobias Sebastien, Gennaro

Following on from our successful last event, we are now happy to present our second Instrumental Night at Apples & Pears Bar!

We invite you to an evening of no gimmicks and no vocals, but instead a showcase of incredible guitarists!

East London is lacking in great, welcoming places for instrumentalists to show off their talents to an all ears audience, so we decided to create that exact environment!

This month we bring you the following incredible line up!

Ivan Melo
Born and bread in Brazil, he grew up listening to Motown and British Rock bands from the sixties and seventies. Attracted to highly technical playing from the start of his musical journey, he navigated through rock, jazz, Brazilian music and fusion.

Ivan moved to London four years ago, where he did his music degree. His versatility took him to perform at the stages of the Paralympics 2012, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Richmond Theatre and many other prestigious venues. Ivan is constantly working closely to songwriters as a guitarist and as a songwriter himself. Ivan has performed alongside musicians from Erika Baduh, Jethro Tull, Joe Cocker, Iron Maiden and he has also written and performed with Grammy Award winners Snarky Puppy.

Most recently, the guitarist has been devoting himself to composing material for his upcoming instrumental album (blending rock and Brazilian music) , co-writing with upcoming songwriters and performing with the genre-hopping group Hans Prya.

Ivan is a in-demand guitar coach.

Tobias Sebastien

Tobias Sebastien is a musician, born and raised in Hamburg Germany, currently based in London. As a kid he started playing piano and soon picked up the guitar as well, influenced by Guitarists like David Gilmour, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, George Benson etc. He wrote music for film and TV, recorded and played live with various Artists in Germany, USA, HongKong and the UK. He plays now acoustic fingerstyle guitar arrangements from Tommy Emmanuel, Adam Rafferty, Sungha Jung, Yuki Matsui and his own. Come and listen to him playing a variety of contemporary songs, pop/rock classics or songs you might have never heard before.
