Having won a Michelin Bib Gourmand and AA Rosette for three years in a row, Manchester's El Gato Negro has decided its time for a new challenge: conquering the Liverpool dining scene. 

From Simon Shaw, the restaurant is finding a second home in the spot formerly occupied by Vincent Cafe and Cocktail Bar, located in the grand Exchange Flags building. Opening later this year, the new space is all about fresh and seasonal tapas, with a long list of sherries and Spanish wines to wash it all down.

While the menu for Liverpool branch has yet to be announced, favourite dishes from Manchester include the likes of chargrilled octopus, roasted cauliflower with shabu shabu dressing and chickpeas, and chicken thighs with smokey lemon relish and salsa verde.
