I could not fault any aspect of the evening at all. After reading some of the less positive reviews in this section I was unsure of what to expect on the night, however from the first moment i walked through the door i could not have had a better night. The whisky cocktail was excellent and when i stepped into the dining room itself I was overwhelmed at the amount of work that must have gone in to make this former biscuit factory into a top-notch restaurant. All of the food was incredible and there was more than enough for the people in our party. Yes, the room was slightly noisy but that was merely the sound of 100ish people having a great night! The live music and beers on tap were also great. I will definitely be booking again if D&S come back to the festival next year, and so will all of my friends. Our first time. From the start an effort had been made with little grouse footsteps to follow to the venue. The place had been decorated in a fun way and one could see someone had made an effort here. The food was excellent and most enjoyable in every way. Everything went well until the beef then we ran out of salad, maybe could have done with more bowls but smaller. The service was excellent in every way. So all in all a very enjoyable evening which we all hope to attend again. Marion visited The Biscuit Factory on 20 Aug 2016

Another sensational evening at D&S. Having loved everything these two innovative chaps have done in London, we came north to sample the delights of the festival and their fabulous Scottish fayre served up in the Biscuit Factory. The evening did not disappoint. The food was outstanding, the execution superb, the service slick, friendly and intuitive and the live music helped to create an atmosphere you'd struggle to improve upon. These guys deserve enormous plaudits for creating an exceptional and truly unique Scottish experience, served up with skill, innovation and serious on-trend charm. We loved it. A fantastic evening in every sense of the word. Marvellous food, served in an original fashion , using locally sourced ingredients. Super sociable round tables, with a great general atmosphere and live music to finish. Great attention to detail, from the waiting staff to the table plans. Definitely one to recommend. A fantastic location with real atmosphere but the star of the show was the food. We sat down next to some friendly people who helped make it a memorable night.. Mark visited The Biscuit Factory on 18 Aug 2016

We really enjoyed the experience of dram and smoke at the biscuit factory in Edinburgh. The location was great, the food was ok. The beef was a wee bit tough which is unusual for braised beef and the heather honeycomb was inedible. I don't think anyone ate it. The singer sounded really good but it was hard to hear her above the conversation in the room. Overall we had a really nice night. Carol visited The Biscuit Factory on 13 Aug 2016

We had a fantastic night at Dram & Smoke. The food was great, as was the music later on in the night. Only bit of constructive criticism would be that it was very noisy during dinner with everyone talking, however this is to be expected in an industrial space and the atomosphere and cool vibe more than made up for it. Great to see events like this in Edinburgh, hope they come back soon! HOLLY visited The Biscuit Factory on 11 Aug 2016

The food was absolutely fantastic however it is a real shame really because the organisation and atmosphere completely lacked. The atmosphere was awful; loud, brash and for the £40 each of our party spent, we couldn't enjoy a civil meal together due to the noise. There wasn't a note of live music played, which was very disappointing. We had to urge the staff to serve our dessert so we could reach connecting transport on time; time between meals was questionable for a company that marketed themselves as professionally as they did. Dram & Smoke certainly caused hype through advertising however unfortunately couldn't match the bar they set for themselves on the night. Lyndsay visited The Biscuit Factory on 06 Aug 2016

Good food, disappointing levels of organisation and atmosphere. There are far better communal dining experiences in Edinburgh for the same money or less, where you'll be served well plated food, with good pacing and as an added bonus the loos will have locks and loo roll!
