What they say:

The Jewellery Quarter just got a whole lot hotter, as The Rebel Chicken bring their staple rotisserie chicken to Birmingham. The vibe is laid-back and refreshingly casual, as stripped back interiors mesh with industrial furniture and communal-style seating. From the decor, to the equipment, no detail is too small. Charcoal has been carefully examined by an appointed charcoal sommelier, before firing up the specially built char pit. Set over two floors, there is plenty of room to sit and eat, or drink at the bar. If that isn't enough, you can chill out in the garden, even watch the World Cup on the outdoor screen while you chow down on a Rebel-style Sunday roast. Expect DJs at the weekend, blasting live music and reggae tunes. With a menu curated by the brains behind Northampton's The Smoke Pit, this bold chicken shop is set to ruffle a few feathers.

What we say:

The Rebel Chicken have hatched a plan to supply Birmingham with top notch chicken, reggae party vibes and a constant stream of juicy drinks. Rotisserie-style chicken steals the spotlight and you can get your fill with a quarter, half, or whole. Each bird is soaked overnight in a tangy marinade, then fired up with a combination of Cuban charcoal and sweet cherry wood logs until perfectly moist. Pair with lashings of aioli or BBQ sauce, as well as sides, like the much talked about apple juice marinated coleslaw or Brummy caesar salad. Finger-licking good? Drinks come in the form of gin, wine, or if you fancy a cocktail, then one of the rum-based specials. You can also choose from 16 bottled craft beers, ales and ciders. Keep an eye out for changing drinks offers and food specials.
