What they say:
Having worked in Purnell's Bistro, chef Dominic Simmonds has decided to go it alone with a tiny, 20-cover space on Caroline Street. Lucky Duck will have a short and sweet menu that rotates around the steamed buns, with fillings such as sticky pork belly, aubergine, and crispy cod cheek. There will also be noodles with toppings including beef brisket and duck, while the space will have take-away options with diners rewarded for bringing their own Tupperware to encourage sustainability.
What we say:
Foodies in London have turned their attention to the traditional Chinese dish recently and now Brummies will be snapping up bao buns as Lucky Duck brings them to the city centre. The tiny space is cooking up a range of Asian-inspired dishes; along with filled buns, there will be noodles and puddings, while drinks are BYOB, making it a very affordable night out indeed.
