What they say:

Having worked in Purnell's Bistro, chef Dominic Simmonds has gone down quite a different route with Lucky Duck, his own 20-cover Asian-style eatery on Caroline Street. The restaurant has a regularly-changing menu that rotates around a selection of plant-based and meaty noodle broths and steamed buns. The spot also has sustainable take-away options, rewarding diners for bringing their own Tupperware.

What we say:

Bao down to Lucky Duck for bringing the popular London food trend of Bao buns to the Brummie masses. The dinky spot is cooking up a small but mightly menu of Asian-inspired dishes; along with filled buns, the restaurant specialises in a number of noodle soups, puds and extras. As for drinks, Lucky Duck offers up a specially-selected list of beers, wines and spirits, as well as the option of  BYOB, making it a very affordable night out indeed.
