What they say:

Starting off as a hairdresser, Carlo Distefano has turned his San Carlo group into an empire. With a series of restaurants across the world, the group are now adding another venue to their roster as they take over Searcys Balcony Bar and Brasserie in the Bullring's Selfridges. In its place a second Fumo will open in August, following a £1 million renovation. Expect the same Italian small plates as the first venue, along with a special Laurent Perrier Champagne Bar and a swish cocktail list.

What we say:

Waterloo Street's Fumo is one of Birmingham's best restaurants, so news that we can now find two of the glorious Italian spots is music to our ears. Similar to the first venue, Fumo Selfridges will serve cicchetti - Italian, seasonal, small plates - which include pasta and seafood dishes. For an authentic Italian taste, ingredients are sourced largely from Milan. The drinks list is just as dreamy as the food, with a Champagne bar and cocktails which range from classic through to original and fruity mixes.
