A Saturday night shift in a hospital A&E department takes an unexpected turn when a mysterious woman enters the waiting room and disrupts the routine. Dr Green is suspicious of the new nurse on the ward, David, as a complaint finds its way into his pigeon hole. The receptionist, Rachel, looks on as the chaos ensues unaware that the nights events would ultimately unsettle her just as much. As the medical trio try to fight their way through the night, they are constantly interrupted by a sea of whimsical and extraordinary patients visiting accident and emergency with the most petty ailments. By the time the shift is over they have dealt with inky infections, unpredicted pregnancy and hostile hen parties.

Following from the success of their highly acclaimed production ‘Normal’, Elemental theatre company is thrilled to announce their latest show “Waiting room.” Set in the Accident and Emergency department of an NHS hospital this brand new comedy promises to
deliver a dose of laughter. Experience a Saturday night shift for three medical staff interjected with chaotic patients as drama develops in the department. If laughter is the best medicine then Waiting Room is the perfect prescription. Join Thomas Levi David, Rebecca Morris Rachel and Chris Stevenson Dr Green for an injection of much needed light entertainment.

Fantastic performance by 4 very talented actors, alongside a brilliant 3 piece band providing spot on musical accompaniment. A very well executed and enjoyable production and perfect for the small, intimate venue of this particular theatre. Brought me to a few small tears during the more heart wrenching moments. Loved it. Highly recommend going to see it before the run finishes.

The Old Joint Stock is a fabulous venue and especially suited for a show such as The Mad Ones which benefits from the intimacy of the theatre. The actual production of The Mad Ones was OUTSTANDING, every character so talented with wonderful voices and absolutely right for the parts they played. I loved the somewhat manic Kelly, but then again Samantha, her mother and boyfriend were totally right for their parts. James Edge's direction was perfect, as was the stage set. All ran flawlessly. My only regret is that I couldn't get to see it a second time. Congratulations to James and all involved.
