Soon, a mysterious organization called “The 39 Steps” is hot on the man’s trail in a nationwide manhunt that climaxes in a death-defying finale! The characterisations were excellent as were the 'accidental' staging issues! Fast moving, with the four players all giving their all with their multiple characters. Well worth the visit. The Old Joint Stock's little theatre really involves you in the plays too. Visited Old Joint Stock Pub & Theatre on 2016-12-24

Met with friends for a very good meal at the Old Joint Stock, before heading upstairs to watch the funniest show we've seen all year - The 39 Steps. A stripped back stage allowed the audience to fully concentrate on the multi talented cast, who produced a superb performance with many laugh out loud moments. Most people seemed to leave with a smile on their face. - a great way to start Christmas! There are whispers of a tour - bring it on, we will definitely see it again!! The show was great from start to finish, funny, well thought out and acting of the highest order, superb. One point is the seating, it is to tightly packed and uncomfortable as not enough room width ways, shoulder to shoulder people had to overlap! We realise it is a small space and you need to get people in to make shows viable. However was still great and will be back. Visited Old Joint Stock Pub & Theatre on 2016-12-23

We enjoyed the atmosphere and lovely bar area. Would have been helpful to serve some bar snack upstairs. The production was great fun if a bit long and occasionally rather "shouty". I have v mild hearing loss and had to switch off my hearing aids! Visited Old Joint Stock Pub & Theatre on 2016-12-23

We had a great time at this production. The acting was amazing and the comic delivery spectacular. We had such fun and it was great to escape the bustle of Christmas shopping to inhabit an alternative place for two hours. Very talented performers, well done! The 39 Steps, what a fabulous show - amazing actors, slick production values and such a great venue. The Old Joint Stock Theatre is a cosy, intimate space lending itself perfectly to the madcap antics of the 4 strong cast - it's sold out now so if you haven't got a ticket already you've missed a corker of a show. You are on a winner with this version of "The 39 Steps" but the actors' rapid character and costume changes, imaginative use of props and stagecraft make it a veritable bizarrerie. Thank you Visited Old Joint Stock Pub & Theatre on 2016-12-16

Saw an afternoon matinee performance of The 39 Steps. Very cleverly done with just four actors. Funny and witty, enjoyed it very much and would therefore recommend it to others. Visited Old Joint Stock Pub & Theatre on 2016-12-17
