With the lockdown easing and the first sights of spring poking through, it's time to get excited about new beginnings again - starting with Robata, a tantalising Japanese spot joining Colmore Row's restaurant collective later this year.

An exciting addition to Birmingham city centre, the restaurant is the second venue under the Robata moniker, with the first launched in Central London in 2019. The menu here is extensive and eclectic, mixing grilled skewers, fluffy bao buns and plates of charcoal-fired meat and veg with an impressive selection of raw dishes, including sushi, sashimi and ceviche.

An ideal spot for that first dinner out on the town? You betcha. Because alongside mouthwatering meals, the bar here will be doing their thing with a whole range of bespoke cocktails, authentic sake and fine Japanese whiskies.
