It's about stein. Oktoberfest takes to Birmingham

(Photo: Facebook.com/oktoberfestmunich) Steins in the air like you just don't care. Munich's original Oktoberfest shows our fair isle just how it's done, and how it soon will be in Birmingham.

Beer here. Beer there. BEER EVERYWHERE. You heard it folks, while Birmingham has forever been a hit with hops, little have we had so grand an occasion to lock our lips around the bevvie and salute to its makers. Until now.

Lapping up lederhosen and lush German beer alike, this Bavarian bash is making its way to Birmingham for the first time ever, following on from their London opening way back in 2011. Right about time you guys. Bringing delicious brewed German beer, precious pretzels, Tyrolean music and sumptuous meats to the city this October (of course), this heralded beer festival may have over 200 years worth of Munich history, but we're about to get a taste for some of our own.

Heading to Cannon Hill Park from the 15-19th October, Birmingham Oktoberfest will be one downright rowdy shindig of Bavarian brews, drinks tokens, lush crowds and more, all spread over atmospheric bench seating. Tickets start from just £34 during their allocated week days, to £39-£55 for the Saturday and £26-£42 for the Sunday. (all based on selective seating, entry is otherwise free on weekdays, £10 on Saturday, £5 on Sunday)
