Description
This is the most perfect way to enjoy the River Thames. Starting your adventure with a visit to the Tower Bridge Museum before making your way to the nearby pier to embark on one of London’s most famous wooden sailing barges, The Sailing Will Badge, crafted in 1924. Heading down-river you will capture the magnificent views of St Katherine Dock, Butlers Wharf, the O2 Arena, Royal Naval College, Cutty Sark and towards the Thames Barrier. Onboard you can sip tea & coffee whilst enjoying lunch and the ambience of the great river with your party and indulge in the knowledge of your Imagine Guide who will bring the River to life with live guides stories.
Right on departure from Tower Pier, you will experience the incredible thrill of having Tower Bridge’s 1,000-ton bascules lifted especially for you!
About the vessel & the journey
A very special London charter boat experience: Opening Tower Bridge on your charter
There are not many private hire boats in London that can create this very special experience. SB Will’s masts are 30 metres high so whenever she needs to pass Tower Bridge either picking up or dropping off her lucky guests, she sets into motion a wonderful chain of events. On approaching the iconic London landmark, guests on deck will first hear the distant warning sirens as the road barriers descend and the crossing traffic is brought to a standstill. Then slowly but surely, as you gently cruise closer, you will see the huge bascules of the bridge start to rise and separate. Everybody in the vicinity will stop and stare at this rare sight as you, Will and your guests take centre stage. With perfect timing, the bridge’s bascules are raised high as you cruise majestically through, entering (When departing Tower Pier) the ‘Pool of London’, the historic area of the Thames between Tower and London Bridge. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, once enjoyed, never forgotten.
