"Nothing can be changed until we face it" - Author and activist James Baldwin
With the climate we are still finding ourselves in, it’s important for people to have open conversations regarding Anti Racism and race-related issues so we can all move towards removing the “uncomfortable” label that can sometimes be attached to these discussions.
We’re encouraging our Kindred community to feel comfortable in productively discussing topics surrounding racism and the black lives matter movement, within your work teams and homes. Sharing experiences, thoughts, educational resources, optimisms and possible reservations can only help us all move towards progression. We’re in this together.
So, to push your conversations to continue, we are holding an online discussion with a panel of amazing speakers from a variety of backgrounds, to facilitate an understanding of systematic problems and an understanding of human behaviours and mindsets behind them. Suggestion on educational resources will be discussed, so we can look into further resources to enable positive, long-lasting changes in society.
Speakers:
- Anthony Brightly - Musician & Activist - UK
- Whitney Hicks - Poet, Media Correspondent & Activist - Atlanta, USA.
