Good food, good value, great service and lovely location. Who could wish for more from a venue just 7 minutes walk from Guildford Station. All 15 of us enjoyed this new choice of venue for our annual Christmas lunch.. visited The Weyside on 02 Dec 2016

Food and service good except we were told there was no milk for teas and coffees.... then there was some! I dislike the service charge being added without permission and then you ask for gratuities as well! visited The Weyside on 04 Dec 2016

We had a table of 9 booked for Sunday 27th of November. We were very impressed with the menu and decor. Lovely ambience. Unfortunately the waiter accidentally over balanced his tray and poured drinks over one of my family members. He was very apologetic and so were the other staff but it was not a great start to our meal Our drinks order was delayed and some of our drinks did not arrive until we had been there for 45 minutes The food arrived very quickly so that was good It was nice - nothing outstanding which I would have expected as the menu is not averagely priced. The waiter we asked to be removed from our service and the girls we had were very pleasant We asked for the family members meal to be removed from the bill as we felt we should not pay for it after the 'incident'. The desert menu is very limited and then to be told that they didn't have one of the main puddings was also disappointing. Luckily I bought a birthday cake so we ate that instead! Overall I don't think we will be returning to the Weyside nor shall I be recommending it to any of my friends Such a shame when you would expect it to be of the highest standards to draw people in especially with no free car parking available. Not a great experience for my fathers birthday celebration. I am also disappointed we weren't offered any complementary drinks as compensation. visited The Weyside on 27 Nov 2016

Not impressed with speed of service, although waiting staff were friendly and courteous. Quality of food whilst edible was not to the standard I would have expected for the prices charged. Chicken 2 ways. Was 2 pieces of dry overcooked roast chicken. With a small pot of lemon sauce. Failed to see where there were 2 ways. Beef and ale pie, whilst edible, had the appearance of a microwave pie. Will not be wasting our money there again. visited The Weyside on 26 Nov 2016

The staff, were very polite and accommodating. However the food was ok but having to pay £1 extra for a thimble of extra gravy was measley considering how much the meal cost, also basics such as cream they had ran out of, however the worst thing was the toilets which were disgusting, obviously not checked regularly. visited The Weyside on 13 Nov 2016

Jo handled our booking on 13th November. It was a family meal and there were 20 guests to look after. The food came out quickly and everyone enjoyed their meal. Jo was a great help and informed me of any menu changes straight away. Only a small disappointment which was the fact there were two pudding changes and the Hummous was no longer available. Other than that we had an amazing time the staff were always smiling and we will most definitely eat there again and may look to host another family gathering there again soon. visited The Weyside on 13 Nov 2016

Very disappointing!! Booked for our anniversary, email confirmed booking and time. We were shown to our table ; waitress arrived and her first words were ' just to let you know the kitchen is shut' we were amazed as the time was 8.40 and we had booked for dinner!! Totally unhelpful and completely ruined our anniversary.

Beautiful venue, lovely setting however slightly ruined by the waitress Despite service being ok, the young lady would be shouting across the conservatory area to tell people not to use the fire exit to get outside. I strongly suggest a polite notice on the door to avoid an unpleasant dining experience. The roast was also just ok, not enough gravy, every table we were sat by asked for extra gravy also the potatos were very hard hence the extra gravy! The waiters/waitresses kept going to the wrong tables with food and didn't seem very organised. Such a shame, maybe some hospitality training is in order visited The Weyside on 16 Oct 2016

I had a gluten free roast dinner at The Weyside. The portion size was spot on, staff and kitchen seemed very gluten aware and even my gravy which was gluten free came out in a separate jug just in case I didn't want it. Would definitely go back but one recommendation, please get sharper knives as ours were rubbish and we tore food more than sliced it! :o) visited The Weyside on 16 Oct 2016

The service seemed like it was going to be good at the start of the meal, they were very friendly and answering what questions we had but then it went down hill. 1) We asked specifically whether the smoked salmon would be hot or cold which the waitress replied it would be hot. It then came out and was cold much to my aunts displeasure. 2) I ordered the lamb shank and after about an hours wait was told that they'd run out and they'd dropped mine in the kitchen which is awful, and meant I had to order another type of roast which was disappointing. 3) The roast chicken ordered was very dry and the amount of gravy most of us received was minuscule. We asked for more for about 4 of us and received one small pan like thing to share which was quite annoying. 4) On ordering the coffees we ordered an americano with hot milk, a tea and a mocha. The americano came out with cold milk and the mocha didnt only take quite a bit longer than everyone else but it was also disgusting and luke warm. It tasted barely of coffee or chocolate and more like slightly warmed milk. I then sent this back and ordered a flat white (specifying I'd like just an espresso with a small bit of milk). This then came out after another long wait once everyone had finished and was not only completely full up to the brim but was also a cappuccino, leading me to believe they do not know how to make a cappuccino, latte or flat white that are actually different from one another. I might also add even as a cappuccino it was not nice; very bitter and lacking flavour. Having been to this pub/restaurant once before I was looking forward to it and hence brought family for a roast, however after our experience it is unlikely any of us would return. It was a very underwhelming and disappointing experience. visited The Weyside on 09 Oct 2016

I had a table booked for 4 for dinner. The food was lovely but that was the only good thing about our evening! The service was terrible. We sat for 30 mins before anyone took our drinks order. When we were finally given our drinks we were served a bottle of wine and then had to wait a further 10 mins for our wine glasses! When we had finished our starters at least 3 waiters walked past and did not clear our plates. The place wasn't very busy but it took nearly 2 hours for our main meals to be served from the time the sat down. We even had to find our own cutlery before we could start our mains! My partner was informed that his meal needed to be reheated which made the meal quite soggy and dry! I had the chicken which was lovely. It just a shame the service was nearly non existent! Also, not one glass was cleared from our table and it seemed, although it was quiet the staff were very stressed. No friendly comments or a smile was to be seen from them! All in all I was very disappointed with the service of The Weyside and will not be choosing to go back any time soon! jessicaker07 visited The Weyside on 08 Oct 2016
