The whole experience was a disaster from start to finish. We were a party of 9. We were seated and our menus were handed to us and drink orders taken. The menus were totally different to what was on the online menu. When asked the waitress she said due to new management the menus had changed. We booked our table on the website and went by what we wanted off the online menu. This was error 1. Next our drinks were bought over and because of such silly glasses (top heavy) 3 of our party got covered in drinks and also a very expensive handbag and contents! Though this was an accident and we didn't pay for any drinks, as you can imagine it's not ideal for customers to be sat wet! When we came round to ordering our meals, I was told that the vegetarian option I asked for (which remember isn't what I wanted in the first place, as the online menu was different) wasn't being served that day which left another option (nutroast) and as someone who doesn't eat nuts you can imagine how that went down. I then bought my concerns to the man in charge who then told me they could supply what I had asked for off the menu. So not sure why the waitress told me it was off the menu. Once food arrived, we had a cold burger arrive with no bacon, once bacon arrived after asking for it, it was very unusual and there was a hair in the chips. Though the other 7 meals people enjoyed. I won't be returning. First and last time unfortunately visited The Weyside on 16 Apr 2017

We visited for Sunday lunch. Location is beautiful and enjoyed sitting by the canal before eating. However we had terrible trouble ordering ale - we were drinking Camden Pale Ale from the outside bar which the new girl (not her fault) was struggling to pour pints for us. When we tried to order inside no one seemed to know that this ale was not available inside so there was some confusion and I thought I had ordered the wrong thing when I had not - this resulted in me taking over 15 minutes to return to our table with correct drinks. The roast was not up to standard, beef tough, cabbage cut really think including core - not nice, some roast potato's were not cooked inside. So overall great venue but food and service lacking, not sure we will return for eating. visited The Weyside on 16 Apr 2017

We had a very enjoyable lunch, had the most delicious Salmon fish cakes, on a bed of spinach, with a very small portion of Chips and Hispi cabbage. I felt the cost of two small portions of vegetables was quite ex pensive at £3 each!! We were served by a very polite and helpful young lady, who made us very welcome. Thank you. visited The Weyside on 15 Apr 2017

70% of starter items were not available! 20% of mains were not available! Menus were all different, apparently waiting for a re-print which caused confusion all round. The food we had was good and the staff were lovely but overall a bit disappointing visited The Weyside on 11 Apr 2017

Might as well not open the restaurant when you you have one starter to choose from. I went for bread and butter.. how exciting.. no sausage and mash on the mains and out of one flavour of ice cream. Fair enough you don't have a dish but that was pretty bad. visited The Weyside on 11 Apr 2017

We often go to The Weyside for dinner and decided to go for Sunday lunch as the weather was amazing. We managed to get a table outside which was great, however, we waited for over an hour for our food and the first dish came out cold and had to be sent back and then it took another 10 minutes for the following dishes to come out. I understand it was very busy and hope we do not have an experience like this again. visited The Weyside on 09 Apr 2017

Very disappointing. Having booked a table sometime ago, due to staff shortages the meal took forever to arrive. However it was excellent. On requesting a dessert menu we were told the kitchen was closed due to overload. After an hour we managed to get a menu and we ordered desserts and more drinks. We had to wait in length for the drinks to arrive and then the desserts which again were excellent. Sadly other tables of people, one of which sat 10 left only having a Main. Such a loss of revenue. There was an apology but no discount offered or an offer of coffee or a drink. Also the Accessible toilet really is not in any way shape or form adequate to accommodate a power chair and a PA. Customers rallied around to move bins, high chairs in order for us to access the toilet but one had to be a contortionist!!! Not good when the wheelchair user has a Masters degree in Access and Law. visited The Weyside on 02 Apr 2017

Very poor due to lack of items on menu and no Youngs Ale available plus limited wine list. We have been to the restaurant a few times with no problems. There seems to be a big difference this time which was a real shame. We will not be booking again . visited The Weyside on 01 Apr 2017

Having been there on many occasions we knew to expect a fairly limited menu. Normally this doesn't bother us but last Saturday there were at least 3 or 4 items on the menu that were in fact 'off'. This left us with very little choice which was rather annoying. Although the restaurant and also the pub were nowhere near as busy as in previous visits the service was quite slow. It was just as well we had plenty of time to get to the nearby theatre before the evening performance began. The only consolation was we were offered a free coffee as they had forgotten an item we had ordered until it was nearly time to pay the bill. I don't think we will be rushing back on our next visit to The Yvonne Arnaud and will use The Cote Brassiere where the menu and service is so much better. visited The Weyside on 25 Mar 2017

Have visited The Weyside on many occasions but very disappointed on this occasion we sat down at 5pm earliest we could book for dinner (first ones in restaurant). To be told that NO sea bass, NO Belly Pork, i ordered burger to which the waiter announced that's the last burger!! (Just in case someone else in our party of 4 was going to order) Felt but sorry for waiter to had the whole evening ahead of him and looked like there was going to be nothing left on menu. As we are frequent visitors to Guildford and The Weyside I think the time has come to look for somewhere else. Would now not recommend. visited The Weyside on 25 Mar 2017

Disappointing, poor choice of food. Sea bass not available and ran out of rump steak. Too noisy. Veg option was awful, looked like baby food as veg were overcooked, ice cream was melting and dripping down the edge of dish. Have been for lunch before but has deteriorated greatly. Our waitress was lovely (I think it was Anna). Another one who served us was very abrupt and loud. We all agreed last night it was a shambles. visited The Weyside on 18 Mar 2017

I booked The Weyside for a big family reunion lunch for 21 people including three small children and two dogs! I was a little nervous as everyone was travelling to get there and some members needed to return to Europe on afternoon flights!. All the staff were not only polite but extremely helpful and accommodating to all our requests. Not only that, we were served piping hot meals (as ordered) and splitting the bill into our various groups was no problem at all despite the fact by the time we left, the place was extremely busy. Thank you so much to all those who made this year's reunion a really enjoyable event for us. I would have no hesitation in recommending and returning again next year! visited The Weyside on 05 Mar 2017

Booked a table for two as a late valentines meal. Arrived at the restaurant where we were seated by a patio door. There was a constant cold draft and we politely asked if we could be reseated. The only table available was one in the barn. We were informed that if we moved to the barn we would have to order at the bar. As the resturant was not overly busy we found this a little rude not to continue the customer care expected when we had booked a table for the full dinning experience. Despite this we agreed to move as the cold draft was uncomfortable to continue to sit there. We were then left to fend for ourselves, and just pointed into the genernal direction we should go, no guidance or assistance. We went up to the bar to place our order and half of our order was not available. Not one person servicing us had informed us certain items weren't available. As a result we choose to leave. Not one member of staff seem fussed by the loss of our business nor did they creat any alternative solution to invite us to stay. We have awarded 2 stars for the ambienance and the atmosphere however for the customer care 1/5 is a suitable rating. visited The Weyside on 04 Mar 2017

Really nice pub in a fantastic location and very good food and beer! We had a large greyhound with us and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating; putting us where there was a space for him to lie down, with a bowl of water and treats.
