It's three years since Melting Pot first aired on Get Radio - a truly momentous moment in broadcasting history - said no one ever. The show has evolved and grown during this time and what better way to celebrate these last three years than by putting on a gig?
We are thrilled that the top 3 acts from the 2023 Festive 20 as voted for by the listeners of the show have all agreed to play.
EMMA HUNTER
Singer-songwriter, 1950s-inspired guitarist, and loop-maker Emma Hunter, together with the trip-hop-inspired percussionist Tom Bruce, create complexly evocative soundscapes, filled with dramatic Lynchian atmosphere.
Intricate melodies and rich Chanteuse-Esque harmonies lie at the heart of every darkly imaginative soundscape crafted to indulge the listener in sun-blistered cinematic escapism.
Their song Morire was voted the best song of 2023 by the listeners of Melting Pot.

MID AIR
One of the best new bands in Oxford, they really took 2023 by storm with the release of their single There's A Son which almost won the 2023 Melting Pot Festive 20, coming in a close second. The band have since followed this up with their stunning debut album Talking Through Glass.

BARRICANE
Oxford’s Barricane, described as modern folk with a femme fatale twist, is fronted by singer songwriters Rosy and Emily. Their often-haunting harmonic acrobatic vocals are the pivotal point around their often climactic, atmospheric stormy, energetic songs. Described by Nightshift Magazine as ‘Oxford’s best folk band’, they released their debut album ‘The Sky and Us’ during lockdown and followed it up in spring 2023 with their single ‘Saltwater’ which was voted third in the Melting Pot Festive 20.
In February 2024 they released a double single, Walking in the Dark and Night Out.
