A Fuller's favourite, more than just shy of Reading train station, The Three Guineas is a favoured plot for locally produced ales, affordable pub grub, and a quick drink when hopping on and off of the train.

Make no bones about it, The Three Guineas make no bones about steering clear from classic pub innards. Known for their cosy seating, classic pub atmosphere and somewhat dated stance, The Three Guineas keep the tone of the beloved British pub in check. From Sky Sports to tucking into a beer on their patio, The Three Guineas is about as laid back as they come.

Known for their CAMRA stance, The Three Guineas tote a top selection of ales and beers the likes of London Pride, Front Row, Cornish Orchards Gold, Chiswick and many more for their guests to tuck into. Pub grub is a delicious treat as not only can visitors tuck into classics, they'll enjoy incredibly reasonable prices as that. Tuck into the likes of their Portobello Burger at £7.95, or their Steak and London Pride pie for the same price.

We did have a lovely time thank you although we didn't actually use the reserved area at all as it was the hottest day of the year so far so we sat outside! Apologies for that but we did stay at your venue for the duration of the evening. visited Three Guineas on 26 May 2017

Hi there, Thanks! We had a wonderful party for my husbands 40th on Saturday. Everyone thought the food was delicious and the venue beautiful. The only small comment would be that the beef sliders were way bigger than I was expecting for a canape so we had lots left over at the end which was a shame. Apart from that great service from reservation onwards. Would definately recommend to friends. Thanks visited Three Guineas on 13 May 2017

Upgrade is nice, but still feels a little like an old man's pub, good for a quiet after work drink or a chat; doesn't do cocktails or a happy hour so didn't really do it for a party night out. visited Three Guineas on 13 Apr 2017

Excellent waitress, friendly, helpful lass from S Africa. Clean, newly refurbished pub/restaurant and very pleasant all round indeed. Delicious food . I had fabulous ham shank with new potatoes and side salad. Really, really great! My son chose fish finger sandwich which was in fab doorstop bread with amazing fresh crunchy hit battered proper fish inside. Awesome! Mothering Sunday free Prosecco for me was a lovely surprise! Would definitely recommend and I'd go again. Thank you. visited Three Guineas on 26 Mar 2017

Amazing night, we were moved from the very loud main bar into a really nice private area that was a lot more personal and it was lovely. All the staff were amazing. The only downside was that they ran out of Pinot Grigio and Prosecco, but staff were really kind and offered alternatives. Food was pricey but beautiful and nothing was wrong with our order. We will definitely be coming again. Thanks to Andy! visited Three Guineas on 25 Feb 2017

Waiting staff were excellent and friendly. Food was very nice though the chips were overcooked and some were quite hard. Table was wonky as well. visited Three Guineas on 18 Feb 2017

We travel to Reading several times a year, by train from Exeter, to pick up our grandchildren, who travel by car from Kent. We always meet at The 3 Guineas - no pub/restaurant could be more convenient. Last Sunday, we were looking forward to experiencing the newly renovated pub interior and its food and drink offerings. It was good to be able to book a table before travelling and also to receive a voucher for a free drink. When we got there we were impressed by what we saw. Then we met our family and sat down for lunch together. However, as one who normally doesn't eat much at lunchtime, I was disappointed by the very few "pub snack" options available, In the end I chose fish and chips, although it was more than I wanted. I ordered at the bar and made it clear twice that I wanted garden peas, not mushy peas, and got the barman to confirm it. But, when it came, it was served with mushy peas. To be fair to everyone, the waitress took it back and a new plateful was cooked to replace it - not heated up! The food was great, especially the fish batter, but I was lagging behind the rest of the family, as a result of what had happened. They had also enjoyed their Sunday Lunches, except my granddaughter. She had chosen the child's menu, as it included ice cream, but had been disappointed when it came to choosing her dessert to be limited to 3 flavours, none of which she liked. In conclusion: 1. We like the new 3 Guineas. 2. The service was exceptionally good. 3. Overall, the food was good and enjoyable. 4. Why not offer a choice of either mushy or garden peas - up front. Many people do not like mushy peas and resent having to ask for proper peas as a special arrangement? 5. Make it clear, when ice cream is included, if there is a limitation on choice, so young ice cream fanatics are aware beforehand and not disappointed later. Having said all that, we shall be back. We hope to award 5 Stars next time. visited Three Guineas on 12 Feb 2017

the food was good but very expensive, and considering it was a station pub it was full of people watching the rugby and therefore noisy, we also had people putting their drinks down on our table so for that type of meal it was too packed and way too noisy visited Three Guineas on 11 Feb 2017

Lovely refurbishment on the pub, a visit down to the Firefly is a must. Food was lovely, I had a Sunday roast which was very fresh with a great selection of seasonable vegetables. Staff were attentive and beer was top notch. Definitely worth a visit. visited Three Guineas on 29 Jan 2017

We went to Three Guineas for a work lunch and found the food to be fairly average for a premium price. We all would have expected a higher quality for the price. The service was slow, particularly when we asked for condiments for our meal. Unless the quality is improved or the prices changed we will not be returning. visited Three Guineas on 01 Feb 2017
