Dig out those vampire fangs and fake blood sachets; Halloween is here once more. There's no need to bother about sorting a great night out though. The Riverbank will be barely recognisable by the time the Halloween Circus of Horrors rolls into town for this Halloween special. To start with there will be DJs - with Iain Newton, Damian Wells and Nathan Hadley playing across the ‘Dungeon’ and ‘Voodoo’ rooms - but it’s really the terrifyingly twisted entertainment that turned our heads. With a whole array of sideshow acts including fire eaters, sword swallowers, contortionists, a human chopping board (!) and much more, this is definitely, categorically not one for the squeamish...
The Bowery are so damn into Halloween that they’ve gone and opened a brand new secret room to party in to celebrate. Promising a sinister club night experience where you’ll find all kinds of ghoulish and freaky creatures of the night lurking in every shady corner and dwelling across their two floors, come if you’re keen for some fancy dress and a playlist of house, RnB and hip-hop bangers. Advanced tickets are a tenner and the party continues until sunrise!
Halloween in Nottingham isn’t exclusively about freaky club nights, either. If you’d prefer to dodge the fancy-dress clad masses you could always drop in at the Bodega come 31st October, where the suitably scary Let’s Eat Grandma are playing a live show. Once likened to “the evil twins from The Simpsons” (probably fair, when you look at the photo), settle in for an alternative Nottingham Halloween event where this duo from Norwich will showcase their unique fusion of experimental pop in an intimate live show.
Well into their second year of helping Notts “reclaim the dancefloor” is Ink, a city centre clubbing destination who have bold plans for their Halloween celebrations. Expect a packed out Saturday night crowd with big tunes courtesy of the Funktion One soundsystem and plenty of spooky twists and turns along the way. Can’t make it on Saturday? Cancel your plans for Tuesday and go big at their Halloween-themed Student Opening Sessions on Monday 31st, instead.
Home to a heaving dance floor and one of the biggest nights out in Notts, you can count on Pryzm going all out to impress for their Halloween Weekender. Throwing their doors open for a haunted soiree on the dance floor on both Friday 28th and Saturday 29th, you’ll find a venue fully kitted out in Halloween decorations, spooks, shocks and frights at this leading Halloween club night in Nottingham.
