What they say:

A little slice of Mexico has been uprooted and dropped straight into the Northern Quarter courtesy of El Taquero. Taking over the space of Bouncing Czech and Montpellier’s, they’ve channelled the spirit of Mexican Taquerias for the décor, with vibrant colours and fabrics imported from Mexico, a ‘living wall’ – one of the first ever in Manchester – and artwork from the country too, spread across the ground and basement floor. There’s even a full-size neon cactus and Latino tunes playing in the background, to get the vibes going while you devour your tacos.

What we say:

TACOS! Who doesn’t like tacos? The fillings are infinite and – if they’re good – delicious and they are actually perfect for everything from lunch straight through to the drunken snack on your bed after a hard night out. Which is great, because the drink of choice for El Taquero is tequila, with a list full of tequila-infused cocktails sold by the glass or carafe, or fresh Mexican beers if liquor ain’t your thing. Meanwhile, the tacos come in thick and fast, with fillings from pork carnitas to smoked chicken, to shrimp and vegetarian options. Swing by for the weekly specials for some dishes with a twist.
