The Bay Horse Tavern

Description

A Manchester institution with roots stretching back to the Georgian era, The Bay Horse Tavern brings together the charm of a traditional British boozer and the style of a contemporary neighbourhood pub. Nestled in the heart of the Northern Quarter, this Grade II-listed spot was revitalised by hospitality trio Ross Mackenzie, Jobe Ferguson and Lyndon Higginson, the team behind well-known Manchester venues including Crazy Pedro’s, Cane & Grain and The Liars Club. Just months after reopening, the pub was named Best Pub in Greater Manchester at the National Pub & Bar Awards, cementing its reputation as one of the city's standout drinking and dining destinations.

Inside, expect cosy leather booths, polished wood interiors and a welcoming atmosphere that feels equal parts classic local and stylish city hangout. The food offering focuses on elevated pub fare, with a menu championing British comfort food made using quality, locally sourced ingredients. Diners can tuck into everything from hearty pies and rotisserie meats to indulgent Sunday roasts, alongside a selection of seasonal small plates that showcase the kitchen’s inventive touch.
