What they say:

The latest offering from the team behind the hugely popular Folk in West Didsbury, Wine and Wallop will launch in the site of the old Blockbuster Video on Lapwing Lane in January 2014 with a clear mission; to bring excellent wine by the glass to the people of West Didsbury, in uncomplicated surroundings. Inspired by the wine bar scene of the 1980s, owner Justin Parkinson says "I've always wanted to offer a great list of wines and prosecco by the glass. We will also feature a large selection of (mainly local) micro-brewed ales and cask ciders, as opposed to lagers."

With great wines, cask ciders and locally brewed ales alongside a simple menu of home cooked food, Wine and Wallop will be a great addition to the thriving West Didsbury bar scene.

What we say:

While we're obviously big fans of the cocktail bars and cool and quirky establishments Manchester has to offer, you can't beat a decent glass of wine and a bite of home cooked food in simple, elegant surroundings. Wine and Wallop seems set to bring something new to the existing bars of Didsbury by its uncomplicated nature and focus on high quality produce - and we love the idea of filling our flagon with local ale to enjoy at home. Roll on January!
