Sad House Daddy presents a special launch show for the amazing JJ ROSA, unveiling her extremely moving new single 'WHERE IS THE MERCY', all in aid of the recent tragic events in Paris.

"The massacre at the Bataclan Club of a young audience enjoying our common bond of music is incomprehensible to me. So, in reflection of this, we don't feel it appropriate to release our song 'Tonight', and have now instead decided to share a song I hold close to my heart, "Where is the Mercy?". I had written this song as a response to the many world tragedies that continually unfold however, in the wake of the Paris attack, it feels more relevant than ever to share this song as the sentiment is particularly poignant."

All proceeds from the show will go to the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

JJ Rosa
Imagine Prince as a woman, or Jimi Hendrix through the prism of Amy Winehouse, dressed in the sequins, feathers and catsuit finery of a '70s Diana Ross: the musically explosive, vocally dynamic, sex-groove, sleaze-blues rock 'n' soul force of nature known as JJ Rosa. With a voice that exudes soul, the mind to write infectious songs and hands that play some mean guitar like some unorthodox lovechild of Nile Rodgers and, yes him again, Prince!

Born in Stockport, but now based in London, JJ’s affair with music started at seven, playing piano and singing 'Happy Day' in her theatre school choir, through to discovering her dad's Jimi Hendrix vinyl collection and pursuing her own relentless addiction with a Fender Stratocaster. That early talent has blossomed to the point where Manchester legends Rowetta and Clint Boon, and Fleetwood Mac icon, Christine McVie are all singing JJ’s praises.

JJ is now rightfully getting herself a great name on the live festival circuit, having opened for Stevie Wonder at London's Calling Festival and performing at The Great Escape, Glastonbury, the Isle of Wight, Secret Garden Party and Festival No.6. She’s also performed in New York, around Europe, and was asked to play at Fender’s 60th Stratocaster Anniversary, of whom she is a worthy ambassador.

"I think ten years from now she will be the biggest artist out of Manchester ever, bigger than Oasis or New Order in terms of what she does. She’s so talented and possesses world class potential" - Clint Boon, Inspiral Carpets

"JJ's gonna be one of the biggest acts to come out of the UK in recent years" - Jake Gosling, Producer (Ed Sheeran/Christina Perri) & Award Winning Songwriter

"An incredible guitarist and musician!" - Labrinth

"Manchester needs a big soulful voice and presence like JJ's to put it back on the music map!" - Rowetta, Happy Mondays.

"I was around to see Jimi perform 'Little Wing' in person back in the day and your interpretation made me emotional and gave me goosebumps" -Christine McVie, Fleetwood Mac

Ariana & The Rose
Ariana & the Rose is an indie pop project based out of London by way of New York City. Having toured extensively in the UK and the US supporting artists such as Foxes, Wolf Gang and Skylar Grey, Ariana has developed a high energy live show that melds electronic and organic instrumentation.

The singer-songwriter has been featured in the Guardian, describing her music as “epic and melodic,” as well as Harper’s Bazaar, Vibe Magazine, Hunger Magazine and The Telegraph.

The music’s pulsing synths and electronic beats have led Ariana to team up with remixers such as Oliver Nelson, The Wide Boys, KDrew, Weiss and Jodi Harsh. Fresh out of the studio with brand new material, Ariana & the Rose has developed her synth band sound even further, mixing big dance beats played on live drums with dark analog synths and lyrics with a fresh perspective.
