What a terrible terrible night at cargo! From when I arrived the door staff where rude and very blunt! As I paid £500 for a table a week ago asking all the question needed to allow all 11 blokes into the club they still refused 7 of us, so as all the lads agreed to leave I stayed and asked to talk to the manager, 1 hour went bye and still no manager! As I was waited I watched my drink on our £500 table get drunk by random people! It was a terrible night and this is not the 1st time! What a terrible venue with terrible staff! Awful night. Was assured a £15 entry if we signed up for guest list however upon arrival were charged £25 and treated incredibly rudely. Was at Cargo on a Friday night for my birthday... Overall the night was great particularly because the music was SO good - we just the danced the night away! Unfortunately though - I'd paid £100 to reserve an area and hour or so after we'd been there security (quite aggressively) told us to move because the area was 'reserved' and it took far too long for them to grasp the fact that yes WE had reserved it. Money doesn't go too far at Cargo either - drinks are really expensive. The wine we ordered tasted so bad too so I'd give that a miss. But yea if you're looking to go out to dance I'd definitely recommend - just not for a bigger special occasion. visited Cargo on 03 Feb 2017

I totally love this little raver heaven! The music is absolutely brilliant, the general vibe is great! Only two downsides to this place, drinks are over priced for the area for sure & secondly some of the clientele are so rude - a lot of barging and shoving - admittedly not the venues fault but can be a bit annoying when you're trying to enjoy a good night out! Either way, I recommend this place 100%!

First of all it was me and my friends 25th birthday, Rang the club a few times to discuss the table deals and guest list deals etc, Was told to do everything online The women over the phone 'Rachael" was not helpful at all, i did mention to her i am bringing 30+ people to the cub she was not interested and refer me back to the website. On our visit we joined the guest list que to which i was told none of us was on the guest list when clearly i had a reference number to show the lady, but the lady was so rude she did not even want to listen, anyway joined the other que and then was told to talk to the head doorman for no apparent reason. The guy just showed us his power talking to us like he is the king and telling us to shut up if we reply to him. Walk in to the cub again security was in our face when we was at our table with all of our friends having a good time. As the night went on we went to the bar to get drink next thing i know we got grabbed by the security and got kicked out?...I still do not understand why that was, I have worked in a club my self before and i understand everything but i asked the doorman to give me a reason and there was no answer....After spending money on a table and bringing 30+ to the club and spending money on the over priced drinks at the bar we get treated like that?...but i guess everything is a lesson .....WILL NEVER EVER BE VISITING AGAIN...The venue is a good spot to be...but the staff 0/10 service...I get better service in a chicken shop...Rude people who think they have a bit of power. .... You guys do not even deserve 1 star if there was an option of me giving no starts i would....Thanks for messing up me and my friends birthday visited Cargo on 28 Jan 2017

My experience this time around in Cargo was good in terms of a great table location and the music being completely on point. However this time around, i had more negative experiences than positive. I booked a table with the £100 birthday package and on arrival the staff were rude and very uninviting. I would understand if we were drunk and disorderly, but everyone was sober and bouncers were completely rude with no smiles or no welcoming comments, body language etc. When asking about the entry price, one of the staff looked at me and my friends and quoted me £20....it seemed like the door staff were trained to assess peoples appearances to see what they can afford. We felt like we was judged on our outfits and how rich or poor we looked before the price was given. To make things worse, when queuing...i was then quoted a price of £10??? and then when i got to the bouncer to be searched, i was quoted £15??? and then 3 people went on their radios, whispering to each other like they were in high school to figure out how much we should pay for entry? Maybe the reputation Cargo have for being a great club has turned everyone into being Conceited? Later that evening, i went to the bar and ordered 2 white wines, 1 red wine and 4 Tequila shots and in total that cost me £95....well, it should of cost me £95. When i got the bill, i initially gave the bar tender £30 by cash and went to pay the rest by credit card. My mistake for not actually checking the amount but the bar tender charged me £75, instead of £65. DOUBLE CHECK THE AMOUNT BEFORE PAYING! After working out what the total amount should have been, the bar tender was not interested. The manager got involved and she handled the situation really really well...I did not get my £10 back but was offered some free shots. The staff in the bar outside were so rude and did not listen to anything. Also, bottle prices? £180 for a Russian Standard Vodka, really?! £250 for a bottle of Whisky/Brandy, really?! Overall, not a bad night. But certain people can really put a downer on the evening with rudeness. Thanks visited Cargo on 20 Jan 2017

It was my 20th birthday weekend so i booked a table with a birthday package. When i arrived, there was no assistance as to where we had to go to actually get the table i had booked. We finally got to speak to bar staff and it took 30 minutes for the staff to get the drinks prepared and finally get to our table. The table was ok. But because there was no 'reserve' notice, one person had to always stay at the table to ensure it wouldn't be used by anyone else. This was quite frustrating throughout the night. I booked the table from 10:30- end. but the table was removed at about 1pm. Drinks way too expensive. However the music was really good. visited Cargo on 17 Dec 2016

While I truly enjoyed the night itself, despite the extortionate drink prices, I have to say the Cargo staff went out of their way to dampen my evening. After four weeks of back and forth emailing to organise my guestlist, I turned up to the door with my friends to be rudely scolded by some power-high blonde that this is not the case and if I wish to get in I better shut it - extremely unpleasant! visited Cargo on 10 Dec 2016

It was a brilliant night, I always have the best nights in cargo, HOWEVER we bought tickets online beforehand as they were cheaper and therefore had to arrive by 11pm to allow entry with them.. We arrived 3 mins past 11 but was told that we had to buy new entry tickets that were more expensive at the door now because its past 11'oclock. We had booked a table for 5 people as well. I think that 3 mins should not be such a big deal especially if a table is booked. I also think the drinks and entry is quite pricey compared to other clubs. Apart from that I would still recommend cargo for a good night out. visited Cargo on 19 Nov 2016

Horrific. Treated like scum on the door. Some blonde girl came over shouting her head off saying it's £20 or leave! Then disappeared back to the door to let in the people from the other queue. Despite having paid £200 for a table/booth and been told of a £15 entry we were forced to pay £20 and when we tried to complain or speak to a manager, we were just left standing in the queue whilst nobody came to speak to us-despite us seeing the manager speaking to other door staff and blatantly ignoring us. Next came us not being allowed entry because I didn't have the correct bank card that I booked with, despite having my id AND a different bank card with all same details-apparently this wasn't sufficient evidence that I was who I said I wasand what angered us most was when my friend bought the correct card, we were allowed in without anybody on the door even ASKING to see it. So we were made to wait 30 minutes for absolutely nothing. Eventually we were allowed through-and (after asking) were eventually led through to our area. Booked for 20 people so we could have enough space but there was barely room for 10 people with a big post bang in the middle which we had to dance around. We were promised waitress service which never happened meaning we had to fight through people to get to the bar. It was quite clear to us that as soon as cargo had their money from us i.e the £200 non-refundable deposit, they couldn't care less about our night. I am never going back and will be using my job as a london taxi driver to steer others well clear of this place. An absolute joke of a club and a complete disgrace. Horrible horrible horrible. I was disgusted by the treatment of myself and the guests I took here for my birthday. We were told to arrive before 12 but were not told that tickets would not work before 11 until we arrived at the club. This deeply affected the night and the staff were very unsympathetic. One of the guests then had a problem with cloakroom and the man at the cloakroom was patronising and unfriendly, proceeding to be intimidating and threatening instead of diffusing an issue that could of been resolved in minutes. I will not be returning to this club and have warned many of my peers of this issue. I will take this further and I hope this club is boycotted and is shut down very soon as many club goers that night were treated in the same vile way. visited Cargo on 29 Oct 2016

I had problem at the entrance, I have been told by email that there is free entrance before 10 pm on Friday, but they asked from me and my guests that arrived before 10 pm to pay entrance fee. I had to explain and prove it by email to several people (some of them was rude) that works there and each time one of my friend arrived to the entrance! Unfortunately I have to say that this is the last time I book a table at Cargo, Shoredich, or that I go there to dance. I booked a table for 20 people and my guests and I were squeezed in a corner which can barely fit 10 people, I have ordered and paid 100£ in drinks and I don't know what wine was served since it was not in its original bottle, the Pimm's jug was mostly ice and filled probably maximum 5/6 glasses. Some of us were there since 8:30 and we realised that at one point the songs played were the same, and the staff has been so rude to ask one of my friend to pay 15£ to enter even if she was in the list and arrived at 9:10 PM. While dancing one of my friends was pushed against a wall by a security guy who pointed a light to his face because he thought my friend had drugs on him and we weren't even drunk and simply dancing with each other...I am sorry to say this is not a good Customer Service and this place will quickly lose his status as one of the best places in East London. I reserved a table at Cagro on 30th September 2016 - for approximately 26 people to celebrate my birthday. When we arrived, we were made to wait whilst those not on the guest list and without booking a table were being let through. I called in the morning to inform them that I had no ID with me and was told it shouldn't be a problem and that she would make a note. Once we got there, I was very rudely informed that the decision will be made at the door and not by anyone 'on the phone'. I expressed my frustration at this, and was then accused of being 'drunk'. How very dare this person accuse me of being intoxicated when I was simply expressing my frustration at the situation and possibility of MY night being ruined. Once we finally went in nobody bothered to help us locate our table and after having to ask 3 different people, we were walked around the club trying to 'find' it. Once our designated table was found, the lady 'tried' to move a group from the area they had allocated to us but 'they kicked up a fuss' so she took us to another area. Whilst i can appreciate they have to make sure a table is free, its clearly not going to work if they cant push back to people that haven't pre-booked the area. We were finally taken to another table which did not have sufficient space for the size of my party. After 2 hours of settling in, the same lady at the door came by to once again rudely inform me that we have to be moved from this table as it was not reserved for us. I tried to explain what had happened, and insisted that this is where we were placed and any mistake made would have been by cargo staff and thus not good enough for us to be moved like sheep. I do not appreciate me and my party being treated so rudely. She once again accused me of being drunk, and that I had already caused trouble that night. I find it highly insulting that she had no other argument against my logic, and due to their lack of organisation and thus could only result to accusing me of being drunk.

I went to Cargo on Saturday 24th Sept to celebrate my bday. Prior to this night out I had been doing days of research so our night out wasn't a disappointment. I put myself and over ten other names on guestlist. Was told we would have to pay £15 on the door if we get there before 12. We arrived at 11:45 and all had to pay £20 each and didn't even check our names. I complained at the door but the girl who served me said "I don't make the rules"...not helpful what so ever. I didn't want to cause a scene then because I know what clubs and bars are like with refusing to let people in. Can I please have my money back?!?! Booked Cargo for my little sisters 20th birthday purely so that all the under 21s could get in. Though it was a good night I will not for sure be going back there again. We booked an area as well as the silver birthday package and we were on a guest list but that didn't seem to make a difference whatsoever, the club was packed out both inside and outside in the smokers area it just seemed like they were letting in everyone to get their monies worth for the night. Doormen + women were just too rude, one was letting in people who had big crosses when checking for their ID. Bar staff on the other hand were really friendly! Would help if we asked for some help. However, the silly £20 limit on card after 10pm is just pointless, that's clearly management milking people off of money. Entry for some was £20 and in Shoreditch that's just ridiculous. Really not worth the money at all. One good thing about the night was the music, DJ on the night played really good music which everyone enjoyed, a real shame we couldn't actually dance to it. shilpii visited Cargo on 12 Aug 2016

First time out in london for ages, group of 12, we decided to go to cargo. Entry £20 for women, £30 for men. Cloakroom was £3.50. Men's toilets were flooded and stank! Queued for 25mins to get a drink, ridiculously expensive. Couldn't move inside, let alone dance, it was way too warm, outside was heaving too. Music was standard stuff. Doormen were so rude. Collectively, as a group it cost us £300 to get in, Noone enjoyed it. Never going back. Where the hell does this money go?!

Booked an 'area' for the Wales game and England v Russia game in the Euros. O was specifically told that all booths and areas had great views of the game and they were putting up extra screens all over. I exchanged about 6 emails as well as a phone call just to make sure it was the right thing to do as there were loads of options in London. Turned up, we had a tiny 'shelf' to the side of a small screen, which we wouldn't have been able to see once everyone turned up, we were expected to stand there for 5 hours, no seats, nothing. I've never experienced anything like it, and we were told we wouldn't get a refund. Eventually they generously moved us inside for the Wales game but then we'd have to move back out for the England game, eventually we just stayed inside after we'd already pre-paid £150 for a few tiny beers and a decanted bottle of Vodka which didn't even look like a litre. Just really annoying and they'd deliberately overbooked knowing they could easily handle any complaints. Last time I book Cargo for anything - really disappointed as it dampened the whole experience of the first big Saturday of the Euros.

Me and my girlfriend stumble across this one Sunday afternoon as we were walking by. It looked quite intriguing so we wondered in. Have to same, we were impressed it seemed chilled out, quirky, and outdoor are, sofas to chill on, spacious. Admittedly, it wasn't very busy and it was free entry at the time. we stayed for about an hour though we did say to each other we would certainly return in the summer, during the day as would be quote nice outside.

All in all a very good night. Although there is no point in paying for a table to be reserved when anybody can just sit on them as there is no one in charge of the table area. When I asked the bouncer to sort it out and ask them if he can ask them to move,he then starts trouble with us all and we all end up leaving. The security and bouncers in this club are outrageous and very rude and because of them we will never visit here again. Abby25 visited Cargo on 30 Apr 2016

I have mixed feelings about cargo, I booked for my birthday and the least I expected on arrivial after having booked a table, was to be at least shown to the table. Not just 'your table is over there', and also we had to get our own drinks from bar tab ourselves! Which isn't easy as its a huge bucket of drinks that we had to carry through a very busy club. Having said that, we got past the initial annoying stage and enjoyed the brilliant music being played and soon forgot about the general lack of care from staff. Joanna visited Cargo on 23 Apr 2016

I had my Birthday here on Saturday night and I booked a table which was fine at first, however once it gets busy, people just use your table and it seems that Cargo staff don't really care. I paid a £50 deposit for my table and used it for maybe 2 hours. And to top it off, when my husband asked the people at the table to move, they caused trouble and my husband was told by Cargo staff to leave! The security staff don't seem to care about whats happening, they just do what is easy so if somebody is unhappy they are thrown out. Also, as it gets so rammed - they throw people out so they can let more paying customers in..... Have had some good nights here but my last visit was very disappointing. Horrible. Arranged a table well in advance of the night i went and was told we were able to use the deposit towards a package so agreed we would sort it out on the night. Got to cargo and was told we didnt even have a table. Managed to get to Our table to be told we hadnt put a deposit down and wouldnt be able to get any sort of package. Bar manager and staff really rude and unhelpful. Had to pay extra for a table that was in the doorway of the entrance so everybody was using it anyway, paid extra for the package so the deposit put down didnt even go towards it. Wouldnt recommend getting a table because everyone ends up using it anyway the staff dont care if youve paid for anything and 100% would never go back on a birthday because youre guaranteed a disappointing night. ritusehdev visited Cargo on 18 Mar 2016

This night club was not worth it at all. Rude manager Very expensive Lots of drunk people and trouble around you. In general I wouldn't recommend it. Plenty of other bars and nightclubs in the same area which are better.

Having visited Cargo many times before I decided to book a table with a big group of friends for my birthday on the 27/2/16. Happy to say I had an amazing night. The staff and manager were friendly, polite and extremely attentive. Many of my guests arrived at different times and I had no trouble getting them inside the venue. We did have a very small altercation with a drunk man but security were very responsive and kicked him out before anything got out of hand. Drinks are a little pricey which we expected but that didn't ruin our night. Music was good and the atmosphere was great!!!!

Our night at Cargo was quite disappointing. I booked a table for my birthday Party. In order to book I had to pay a deposit of 50 pounds, When we arrived and we asked for our table, they told us that our reservation was not on the list and they had not arranged a place for us. Despite being the first group of people who arrived to the venue, they told us to wait at a table until they sort out the problem. When the group who had booked that table arrived they told us to move to another table outside of the venue. It was the beginning of March and it was pretty cold. They expected us to spend all the night outside between 0-3 degrees with just a couple of heaters that were not powerful enough. Trying to solve this problem we had to deal with the manager of Cargo, who treated us in a very rude and impolite way. We arrived quite early to the place because we wanted to have some drinks and chat a little bit before starting the party, This was impossible because the music was very loud even with the empty venue. In addition, there was no kind of heating system and we were very cold until more people arrived and the venue started to get warmer. The drinks were very expensive even at the early evening when they are supposed to be cheaper according to what they say on their website. Apart from the bad conditions of the venue and the unhelpful staff, we found the night club full of extremely drunk people without manners and several fights during the night including a guy who had his shirt full of blood. We had a great night since what it is really important is the people you go with, more than the place. But if you want to avoid nasty surprises and focus on enjoying your evening with your friends, look for other place. London has too great a selection of bars and night clubs to waste your time going to Cargo. anc visited Cargo on 05 Mar 2016

One of the worst nights in my life... We booked a table for 15 people in this place for a birthday. We arrived quite early, at 6:30pm, but they had forgotten to reserve a table for us. They settled us temporarily at a table and after 3 hours a manager came to us “asking” (he started to shout in a nervous way) to move us to another place because that table was “reserved” (exactly the same kind of reservation that we had made). They moved us to a table outside, where we had to spend the rest of the night at 0 degrees and just a couple of heaters for all of us. Apart from this, the quality of the service of this place is unacceptable. At the bar you can just choose between three quite expensive beers (5-6 pounds), even before the night club time started, which has nothing to do with the prices that you can see on their website. The staff in general is very rude. In addition, the security of the venue is not so good. Every hour came out someone bleeding due to fights between drunk animals. I really advise you absolutely not to book at Cargo for any kind of celebration, if you don't want them to spoil your night.

Unfortunately I have to say that staff is really rude, especially lady who stands in the front door(blond hair). She does whatever she wants and treats ppl like shit... Even when I was nice to her she still jumps on me. Kinda disappointed... delightful88 visited Cargo on 13 Feb 2016

I had booked a table for 8 people. The staff messed up our booking and did not give us an appropriate table. At first the staff showed us to a dirty table in a corner where others were already sitting and did not even have space for 8 people. When i asked to speak to the manager, the staff became wuite rude. After arguing with them for almost half an hour, the manager finally gave me a table for 8 people although not in the area where i had booked. Other than that the music was good and had loads of fun. Worst experience I have had with a venue and we have worked with hundreds ! The security staff were beyond rude talked to us all like we were children so pushy and left us queuing for 15 mins letting everyone else who didn't have tickets first when we had reserved a table. We booked a table for our staff party and bought 3 times the required drinks allowance for the table. However on arrival found that the table was in a tiny bar area not in the club at all. I enquired at the bar is it possible to move and the bar girl was so rude announcing people have paid thousands of dollars to be in the main club.... We had to chase 3 times to get the drinks we had pre paid for. I tried to have a word with the manager saying we were really disappointed and had been here for half an hour with no sign of drinks and he was equally rude saying we only arrived 5 mins ago - which is not true we had been stuck outside for 15 mins and at the table for the same time - he said I would have to pay alot more to be in the actual club. His attitude stank. Then when we finally did get the drinks the bar staff brought over some bottles then came back over saying we had more of this to come. I wasn't sure what was included. They brought over 3 more bottles of prosecco poured it all out and then about 10 mins later another equally rude individual came and announced we were not entitled to that and they were taking it away - there mistake they couldn't use it anyway and they made a massive show of us in front of our team. Also staff who arrived 2 minutes after the cut off point of nine pm were forced to pay for tickets when we were told there was a half hour leeway on arrival. Disgusting customer service ! fail fail fail fail.... vanityvan visited Cargo on 19 Dec 2015

Awful service. I had booked a table and had 15 people on my guestlist for the night. The door staff made us queue and let people in the club without pre-paid tickets or a table before us. I was then told by the bouncer that even though I had; a ticket, a table and had pre-paid for all of this, that I still had to buy a ticket and this argument went on for a while until he agreed he was wrong and let me in. Almost every review I have read about this club have stated about the disgusting attitude of the door staff. oking07 visited Cargo on 12 Dec 2015

I had my 21st here a few years ago and occasionally come here. Great open garden and good atmosphere. Really changed over the years, more commercial and more chinos and boat shoes than hard core electro fans but still a great night. Food available is awesome and drinks are averagely priced for east London. Good music in both rooms. If you're after a space to sit down, definitely book in adv. this isn't a place to sit down!

Very disappointed, due to being denied entry on the door, by two rude and aggressive door staff. Apparently due to a member of our group being drunk. We were offered the option of a breathalyser test, which we agreed to, only for them to change their minds. The manager eventually agreed to refund the significant amount we had prepaid for drinks, but has not replied to any emails since. If you intend to go my suggestion would be not to prepay for anything, as you have very little comeback if they decide to deny you entry, which seems fairly arbitrary. I was greeted by two very rude blonde ladies at the entrance and although I arrived before 21:00, had a guest list, I still had to pay £20 entrance fee. What is the point of having a guest list if you still have to queue up? Utterly disappointed! I have never seen such bad customer service in my life. It was an okay night started off badly because even though we booked through this website for guest list our names weren't on the list. We argued with the manager and showed her our phone with the booking then after 5 mins of arguing she let us all in. The night got better after that. Loving the amount of hen parties out last weekend!!

I have reserved a table for 10 people to have a company party after work. I felt ashamed to bring my company here. I believe there should be a different treatment for reservations and especially for adult people entering at 6PM (clearly arriving from office). The rude bouncers inspected us like if we were kids or criminals and I had to complain to have a decent-sized table for 10 people..Shame. Not sure I will come back.

Great night. The only downside was the bouncers. 30 of us were celebrating my birthday and for no reason they didn't let one of my friends in. They wouldn't even reason with us.

I came for my birthday 4th July 2015 and everything was great apart from some of the bouncers and the toilet lady... 1 word to describe them RUDE. Therefor as much as it is a lovely place I will NOT be returning unless I hear the toilet lady has been changed and the bouncers sort their bad and unnessesary attitudes out. It's not nice to go somewhere, give your money and bring lots of business to them to have that kind of service. Not acceptable.

Great place, love to go out here. Make sure you've had your predrinks as you're paying £20 entrance (after 11.30 I believe) plus the drinks are really expensive. But, it's worth it for the vibe in the place. I love the professional laser lights and smoke machine, and can feel the music beating in my heart when I'm in the bigger clubbing room! Last Saturday was brilliant!

visited on friday night, reserved an area and had a blast. The music was great to dance the night away. The outdoor area was cool to relax with a few drinks away from the loud music. I'd just be weary about the cloakroom and The attendant lost an item of mine and after months of chasing them up on it, revisiting twice and taking time out of work, I got no where and no compensation. That was a let down

Great venue and vibes. Good commercial music without repeats all night. Did get there at around 10:45 but had to pay £20 to get in which did not please us for such a short night. On the whole a buzzing lively place that guarantees a good night

So so. Drinks, bar staff and deco were all fine, but crowd was very young, drunk and rowdy, was expecting something a little more tasteful. Music wasn't great either, not very relatable or fun to dance to and found rooms connected bizarrely, not great flow. It's not a bad place, but it's not great either.

Been there week ago for girls night out. Nothing special in my opinion... although, the staff was nice and we had no problems at all with drinks or anything else.. The only thing I would say, the crowd was very young, and extremely drunk and music was not that good.. They have few different rooms with different music, but none really to my, or any of my friend's taste.. would be great to hear some party music, and not mix of strange not danceable music.. Been on Saturday and paid 10£ entry fee.. I wasn't impressed.. was hoping for something a bit more classy, but I guess they target younger people between 17-21... which doesn't attract me at all.. Also, place could be a bit more cleaner..

This place has the potential to be really good. The outdoor in particular adds a lot. But several things let it down badly: - £15 is a lot to pay to get in, for what this place is. - Drinks are overpriced. £10 for a single vodka and Boost is a joke. - Most importantly, the door staff are awful. I saw bouncers shoving people hard from behind, making them collide with strangers. I heard bouncers talking with pride about their "anger issues". It really puts a downer on the atmosphere.

Quite like this place, three different areas to suit different tastes. Nice mix of different people with nice areas to stand and have a chilled drink or areas such as the 'rave cave' to get your dance on!!

Shot through the heart! This pub has it all, spirits, wine, beer, and all in style. Funny one as a matter of fact. Cracking jokes with the bartenders all night! If this isn't the best service venue in London, then we need to make it!

One of my favourite clubs in London and cant believe I have only just discovered it. Located sneakily down the shoreditch side streets, beat the queue with guest list and get into this banging club for some seriously good DJ's and live music. The outdoor garden is the perfect escape as well and reminded of some of the spaces in Ibiza. Will be back!
